Description
"Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo" is the third installment in the Rebuild of Evangelion film series, a reimagining of the original "Neon Genesis Evangelion" anime. The story picks up 14 years after the events of "Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance," with Shinji Ikari awakening from suspended animation aboard the Wunder, a massive airborne battleship operated by the organization WILLE. The world has drastically changed since Shinji's last conscious moments, as the Near Third Impact—triggered by his actions in the previous film—has left Earth in a state of desolation known as the "Post-Impact World."

Shinji learns that his former allies, including Misato Katsuragi and Ritsuko Akagi, now lead WILLE, which opposes NERV and its leader, Gendo Ikari. WILLE views Shinji as a threat due to his role in the Near Third Impact and confines him aboard the Wunder. Meanwhile, NERV, now operating in secrecy, seeks to complete the Human Instrumentality Project, a plan to merge all human consciousness into a single entity. Shinji is rescued by Kaworu Nagisa, a mysterious and enigmatic figure who pilots the Evangelion Mark.06. Kaworu takes Shinji to NERV's headquarters, where they attempt to repair Unit-01, Shinji's Evangelion, in hopes of reversing the damage caused by the Near Third Impact.

As Shinji and Kaworu grow closer, they work together to synchronize with Unit-01 and initiate the Fourth Impact, believing it will restore the world. However, WILLE intervenes, revealing that Kaworu's actions are part of NERV's plan to further the Human Instrumentality Project. In a climactic confrontation, Kaworu sacrifices himself to stop the Fourth Impact, leaving Shinji devastated and questioning his purpose. The film ends with Shinji stranded in a desolate landscape, grappling with the consequences of his actions and the fractured relationships with those around him.

Key characters include Shinji Ikari, the reluctant pilot of Unit-01, whose emotional struggles drive much of the narrative; Kaworu Nagisa, a calm and enigmatic figure who forms a bond with Shinji; Misato Katsuragi, the hardened leader of WILLE; and Rei Ayanami, whose role becomes increasingly ambiguous as the story unfolds. The film explores themes of guilt, redemption, and the consequences of human ambition, set against the backdrop of a world teetering on the brink of annihilation.
