Anri Katsu is a Japanese voice actor born on July 3, 1977, in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, though he was raised in Ōta, Tokyo. He is affiliated with the talent agency Ken Production, having moved there from Mugen Project in January 2006. Katsu's interest in voice acting was sparked during his childhood by anime and film. Before pursuing it professionally, he was a musician, playing in a band, and also worked various part-time jobs, including as a bartender. He trained at the voice acting school run by fellow voice actor Kazuhiko Inoue, whom he considers a mentor.

Katsu's career began in the early 2000s, and he has built a reputation for his versatility, taking on a wide range of roles in anime, video games, and dubbing foreign productions. One of his most prominent and long-running roles is that of Motoharu Tsuchimikado in the A Certain Magical Index series, a role he has reprised across multiple television seasons, the film The Miracle of Endymion, and various video games. Another significant role is Nile Dok in the globally popular Attack on Titan franchise, appearing in several seasons of the anime.

In addition to these, Katsu's anime portfolio is extensive. He has played Hiroto Tonomachi across all main installments of the Date A Live series, Enji Koma in Tokyo Ghoul and its sequel, and Teppei Araki in Assassination Classroom. Other notable roles include Chōta in Dorohedoro, Clark in Squid Girl, Kiyosumi Katō in the Baki series, and Daidara in Akame ga Kill!. He also voiced Tierno in the Pokémon XY series and has appeared in long-running shows like Detective Conan, Fairy Tail, and Gintama.

Beyond anime, Katsu is highly active in video game voice work and Japanese dubbing (吹替) of foreign films and TV series. In video games, he has provided voices for major international franchises, including Ghirahim in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Hyrule Warriors, Miles Morales in the Spider-Man video games, Bado in Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth, and Gav in Final Fantasy XVI. He is also known for his dubbing work, frequently providing the Japanese voice for actors like Kevin Hart and Adam DeVine, and for characters such as Michelangelo in various Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles productions and Chuck in The Angry Birds Movie.

Katsu is known for his collaborative spirit and has been part of several groups within the voice acting community. He was a member of the voice actor unit "Revolver" with colleagues Norihisa Mori, Eiji Miyashita, and others. He is also part of the cycling team "VOICYCLE," led by Hirofumi Nojima. Outside of acting, his personal interests are heavily focused on music; he plays guitar, bass, and drums, composes songs, and is an avid fan of The Beatles. He also enjoys fishing and physical training, having even built his own gym.
