Description
"Akame ga KILL!" is set in a fictional empire plagued by corruption, inequality, and tyranny. The story centers on Tatsumi, a young warrior from a rural village who travels to the capital with his friends to earn money and support his impoverished hometown. Upon arrival, Tatsumi discovers the capital's dark underbelly, where the ruling elite exploit and oppress the poor. After being betrayed and losing his friends to the empire's cruelty, Tatsumi encounters Night Raid, a group of assassins working under the revolutionary army to overthrow the corrupt regime.
Night Raid is composed of skilled fighters, each wielding a unique Imperial Arm, powerful weapons forged from dangerous creatures known as Danger Beasts. The group includes Akame, a stoic and deadly assassin; Leone, a fierce and loyal fighter with enhanced physical abilities; Mine, a sharpshooter with a tsundere personality; and their leader, Najenda, a former imperial general turned revolutionary. Tatsumi joins Night Raid, driven by a desire for justice and revenge against the empire.
As the story progresses, Tatsumi and Night Raid face off against the Jaegers, an elite group of Imperial Arms users loyal to the empire. The Jaegers, led by the enigmatic General Esdeath, include characters like Wave, a morally conflicted soldier; Kurome, Akame's estranged sister; and Bols, a kind-hearted yet deadly enforcer. The conflict between Night Raid and the Jaegers escalates, with both sides suffering heavy losses. The narrative explores themes of loyalty, morality, and the cost of revolution, as characters grapple with their ideals and the harsh realities of war.
The empire's corruption is personified by Prime Minister Honest, who manipulates the young emperor to maintain his grip on power. The revolutionaries aim to dismantle this system, but the path to change is fraught with sacrifice. Characters on both sides face moral dilemmas, and the story does not shy away from depicting the brutal consequences of their actions. The series balances intense action sequences with moments of character development, delving into the backstories and motivations of key figures.
As the revolution gains momentum, Tatsumi grows stronger, both physically and emotionally, while forming bonds with his comrades. However, the cost of victory is high, and the story does not offer a clear resolution for all characters. The final arc sees Night Raid and the revolutionary army launching a decisive assault on the capital, leading to a climactic confrontation that determines the fate of the empire. The series concludes with a mix of triumph and tragedy, leaving a lasting impact on the surviving characters and the world they fought to change.

Staffel 1
1Kill the Darkness
Tatsumi arrives in the capital with his childhood friends Ieyasu and Sayo, planning to earn money for their impoverished village. A noblewoman named Aria offers Tatsumi lodging after his friends fail to meet him at their designated meeting point. During the night, Tatsumi discovers Aria tortures captured people in her mansion’s basement. Members of the assassination group Night Raid, including Akame, Leone, and Mine, infiltrate the estate to eliminate Aria and her family. Akame kills Aria with a single slash of her sword while Tatsumi watches, unable to act. Aria’s father reveals his family has killed hundreds of people for entertainment, justifying their wealth through torture. Night Raid executes Aria’s parents, and Tatsumi learns that his friends Ieyasu and Sayo were among the victims in the basement. Tatsumi, enraged, kills Aria’s already dead body with Aria’s own sword. Leone offers Tatsumi a place in Night Raid, explaining their goal to assassinate corrupt officials and overthrow the empire’s oppression. Tatsumi accepts, deciding to join the group to fight the capital’s corruption directly. The episode closes with Tatsumi undergoing his first training session under Akame’s supervision, preparing for the group’s next mission against a notorious assassin.
2Kill the Authority
Night Raid assigns Tatsumi his first assassination: a wealthy noble who abducts children from the capital and tortures them in his basement. Tatsumi scouts the estate and finds the imprisoned victims, confirming the noble’s cruelty. When Tatsumi confronts the noble, the man remains unarmed and mocks his hesitation. Tatsumi recalls the deaths of his friends from the previous episode and strikes the noble down. After the kill, Tatsumi frees the children, but the noble’s daughter, who had previously acted kindly toward him, attacks the freed captives. She declares her father’s actions justified and tries to kill the children herself. Akame executes the daughter without hesitation, showing Tatsumi that Night Raid eliminates anyone who perpetuates such corruption. Najenda later explains that the assassination will provoke a stronger response from the Empire. Tatsumi accepts the necessity of killing without exception and commits fully to Night Raid’s methods. The episode ends with the Empire dispatching the elite Three Beasts to hunt the assassins.
3Kill the Severance
Night Raid accepts a mission to assassinate Ogre,a wealthy city official who uses his position to abduct and torture civilians for sport. Tatsumi, still unaccustomed to killing, accompanies Leone to gather intelligence on Ogre’s movements. During reconnaissance, Tatsumi encounters Ieyasu, a childhood friend from his village who now serves as one of Ogre’s personal guards. Ieyasu believes he serves the Empire honorably and dismisses Tatsumi’s warnings about Ogre’s cruelty. Tatsumi reports the situation to Night Raid, and Najenda decides to proceed with the assassination despite his personal connection. The team executes a coordinated assault on Ogre’s mansion during a banquet. Akame and Leone neutralize the guards while Tatsumi confronts Ieyasu directly. Ieyasu refuses to stand down, forcing Tatsumi to kill him in self-defense. After the mission, Tatsumi carries Ieyasu’s body away from the mansion and buries him, visibly shaken by the act of killing someone he once trusted. Akame watches silently, recognizing the weight of his resolve. The episode ends with Night Raid receiving intelligence about a new threat: a ruthless general named Esdeath returning to the capital.
4Kill the Imperial Arms
Tatsumi receives his first assignment from Night Raid: assassinate Zanku the Executioner,a former government official who uses his Imperial Arms to murder civilians. Akame accompanies him and explains that her Teigu, Murasame, kills instantly with any cut, leaving no room for error. Zanku’s Teigu, a pair of goggles called Perfector, allows him to read the surface thoughts of anyone he observes. Tatsumi volunteers to act as a decoy, deliberately carrying no weapon to prevent Zanku from identifying him as a Teigu user. Zanku reads Tatsumi’s initial plan, but Tatsumi fills his mind with a series of random images taught by Akame, disrupting the mind-reading. The confusion gives Akame an opening to strike Zanku from behind, delivering a fatal cut with Murasame. After the kill, Tatsumi learns from Akame that Zanku was once a respected executioner who descended into murder after the Empire forced him to kill innocents. Najenda, Night Raid’s leader, later pairs Tatsumi with Mine, a sniper whose Teigu, Pumpkin, grows stronger under emotional stress. Mine openly resents Tatsumi’s presence, blaming his earlier weakness for nearly compromising the mission. The episode ends with Mine ordered to train Tatsumi, ensuring continued conflict between them.
5Kill the Dreams
Night Raid accepts a contract to assassinate Ogre,a former police chief who extorts and murders commoners with impunity. Tatsumi volunteers for reconnaissance, infiltrating Ogre’s estate as a servant. He witnesses Ogre’s cruelty directly, including the exploitation of a young maid named Ieyasu who attempts to poison her master. When Ieyasu’s plan fails, Ogre captures her and schedules a public execution to deter further resistance. Night Raid accelerates the operation, storming the estate to rescue Ieyasu and eliminate Ogre. Tatsumi confronts Ogre, but hesitates when Ogre uses Ieyasu as a human shield. Akame kills Ogre with a single strike, severing his hold and freeing the girl. Tatsumi struggles with his hesitation, questioning whether his personal ethics can coexist with the group’s lethal methods. Ieyasu, freed from Ogre’s tyranny, chooses to leave the capital and rebuild her life with Night Raid’s assistance. The mission concludes with Night Raid acknowledging that removing one corrupt official does little to halt the system that produces them. The Empire assigns Esdeath, a ruthless general, to command the pursuit of Night Raid, raising the immediate stakes for the group.
6Kill the Absolute Justice
Night Raid receives intelligence about a serial killer targeting young women in the capital. The assassin,Zanku the Beheader, once served as the empire’s official executioner before being cast aside and acquiring a Teigu that grants him the ability to read surface thoughts. Tatsumi volunteers to act as bait, walking the streets while the rest of the team watches from concealment. Zanku confronts Tatsumi, quickly exploiting his mind-reading power to anticipate every strike and mock Tatsumi’s lack of resolve. When Tatsumi falters, Mine intervenes with a long-range shot, forcing Zanku to retreat. Tatsumi gives chase, leading to a rooftop standoff where Zanku reveals his warped philosophy: he now kills to preserve the beauty of his victims, considering it a form of absolute justice. Akame arrives and engages Zanku directly, using her own Teigu, Murasame, to deliver a lethal cut. Before dying, Zanku experiences a fleeting moment of clarity, recognizing that his pursuit of justice was merely a justification for slaughter. The aftermath shows Night Raid disposing of the bodies while discussing the relentless nature of their work. Leone informs the group that the minister has dispatched a new threat: a skilled swordsman named Bulat, who is ordered to hunt down Night Raid, setting the stage for a direct confrontation with a formidable opponent.
7Kill the Three Beasts - Three People Over Three Days
The battle between Night Raid and the Jaegers' Three Beasts continues from the previous episode. Tatsumi faces Daidara, who wields the Teigu Belvaac, a massive scissors-like weapon. After sustaining severe injuries, Tatsumi falls into a ravine, where his Teigu Incursio evolves in response to his will to protect his comrades. Incursio transforms into a second stage, encasing Tatsumi in a sleeker, more powerful armor that enhances his speed and strength. Tatsumi returns to the battlefield and defeats Daidara by impaling him with a spear formed from Incursio. Meanwhile, Mine struggles against Nyau, who uses his Teigu, the Perfector, to summon a giant skeleton monster. Sheele intervenes to protect Mine but is fatally wounded by Nyau's attack; her Teigu, Ecstasy, is destroyed. Nyau escapes, leaving Sheele to die in Mine's arms. Night Raid regroups at their base, mourning Sheele's death and acknowledging the escalating danger posed by the Jaegers. Tatsumi reflects on his failure to protect Sheele, reinforcing his resolve to grow stronger. The episode ends with the Jaegers receiving new orders, setting the stage for further confrontations between the two groups.
8Episode 8
Night Raid arrives at a port city to intercept a dangerous shipment from the Empire. Tatsumi,Mine, and Schere investigate the docks while Leone and Bulat secure the perimeter. They discover the cargo consists of a massive, sealed container emitting strange energy. The team’s operation draws the attention of the Empire’s elite forces, including the young prodigy Run and his Teigu user partner. A battle erupts as Night Raid attempts to destroy the shipment. Mine uses her Teigu, Pumpkin, to target the container, but its energy fluctuates, nearly killing her. Schere intervenes with her scissor-type Teigu, Extase, to sever the container’s locks, releasing a powerful, grotesque Danger Beast. The creature rampages through the docks, forcing both Night Raid and the Imperial soldiers to fight it. Bulat engages the beast with his Incursio armor, but the creature’s speed and strength overwhelm him. Tatsumi, struggling to master his own Teigu, tries to assist but hesitates at a critical moment. Schere sacrifices herself to create an opening, using Extase to bisect the beast’s head, but the creature’s dying convulsions impale her. She dies from her injuries. Bulat escapes with Tatsumi, who blames himself for his hesitation. The Imperial forces retreat, claiming the port as their victory. Tatsumi carries Schere’s body back to the hideout, where the remaining members mourn her loss. The episode ends with Tatsumi reaffirming his resolve to become stronger, while the Empire’s leadership learns of Night Raid’s presence and prepares a counterattack.
9Kill the Adversity
Night Raid receives orders to eliminate General Ogre,a military officer who tortures civilians in the capital. The group splits into pairs to move through the city undetected; Tatsumi and Mine work together despite their frequent disagreements. Mine’s Teigu, Pumpkin, requires calm focus to reach its full power, and her agitation causes it to misfire repeatedly. Tatsumi shields her from enemy soldiers, recognizing that her recklessness comes from a need to prove her abilities. They corner Ogre in a warehouse where he oversees the torture of captured rebels. Ogre wields an Imperial Arms gauntlet that amplifies his physical strength, giving him the advantage in close-quarters combat. Mine steadies herself by concentrating on the mission’s objective rather than her own frustration, allowing Pumpkin to discharge a precise, high-power shot that kills Ogre. Seryu Ubiquitous and her bioweapon Koro arrive on the scene after tracking Night Raid through a wounded soldier. Seryu witnesses Ogre’s body and erupts into fury, vowing to hunt down Tatsumi and Mine personally. The pursuit shifts from a general hunt to a direct, personal confrontation between Seryu and the two Night Raid members.
10Kill Your Sorrows
Tatsumi wakes from a nightmare of Sheele’s death, his fists clenched, unable to focus during morning training. Akame approaches him and states that dwelling on loss dishonors those who sacrificed themselves; the only path is to continue fighting. Night Raid receives a new assignment: eliminate Countess, a noble who operates an orphanage as a front to torture and kill children for her amusement. Mine and Tatsumi disguise themselves as newly hired servants to enter the mansion while Akame and Leone position themselves outside for backup. Inside, the pair witness Countess personally selecting a child to mutilate, confirming her guilt and the mission’s urgency. Before they can act, Seryu arrives with her partner, the Teigu user Shura, who gleefully participates in the cruelty. The two Empire agents engage Night Raid in combat within the mansion corridors. Mine’s Teigu, Pumpkin, releases a massive energy wave that severely weakens her but clears a path. Tatsumi activates Incursio and confronts Shura, using the armor’s adaptability to counter Shura’s attacks despite his lingering emotional turmoil. Countess attempts to escape through a hidden passage, but Akame intercepts and kills her with a single slash. With their target eliminated and Shura wounded, Seryu retreats alongside him. After the mission, Tatsumi tells Akame that he still feels Sheele’s absence but will now fight to protect his remaining comrades. The episode ends with Tatsumi internally solidifying his resolve to destroy the Empire alongside Night Raid.
11Kill the Delusions
Night Raid returns to their hideout after Bols’s death. Tatsumi struggles with the act of killing a family man,but his comrades remind him that Bols participated in massacres. Seryu Ubiquitous, consumed by grief and her twisted sense of justice, tracks Night Raid’s location using her military connections. She confronts Mine and Tatsumi in the city, unleashing Koro and her own cybernetic enhancements. Mine fights defensively while Tatsumi uses Incursio to protect her, but Seryu’s relentless assault pushes them back. Akame arrives and severs Seryu’s arm, forcing Seryu to activate a self-destruct mechanism embedded in Koro. Koro detonates, leveling the area, but Akame escapes with Mine and Tatsumi. The explosion kills Seryu and Koro, ending their pursuit. Night Raid regroups, acknowledging the cost of their war against the Empire. Esdeath, learning of Tatsumi’s involvement in Bols’s death, resolves to capture him alive to break his spirit. The episode closes with Esdeath personally leading the hunt for Night Raid.
12The Imperial Capital Ablaze
Night Raid’s attempt to assassinate Minister Honest inside the Imperial Capital triggers a large-scale trap orchestrated by the Jaegers. The Empire unveils the massive Teigu Shikoutazer,an armored weapon requiring a human sacrifice to activate, and deploys it against the insurgents. Esdeath intercepts Akame, forcing her into a one-on-one duel where Akame struggles to land a decisive blow with Murasame. Tatsumi, wielding Incursio, clashes with Wave and Kurome, but the appearance of Shikoutazer forces them to retreat from the palace grounds. Mine confronts Seryu Ubiquitous in a narrow street, using Pumpkin’s energy output to overpower Seryu’s Koro and her own Teigu. After a fierce exchange, Mine destroys Koro and mortally wounds Seryu, who detonates explosives in a final attempt to kill Mine, leaving Mine severely injured. Lubbock and Leone work to evacuate civilians while fighting through Imperial soldiers, but the Shikoutazer’s bombardment sets large portions of the capital ablaze. The Minister declares martial law, using the chaos to consolidate his power and frame Night Raid as the sole cause of the destruction. Night Raid regroups outside the city, realizing that defeating Shikoutazer requires either destroying its core or severing the sacrifices powering it. Tatsumi vows to find a way to disable the weapon before the Empire completes its plan to execute all captured rebels.
13Kill the Nuisances
14Kill the Colossal Danger Beast
15Kill the Despair
After Bulat’s death,Tatsumi retreats into grief and repeatedly fails to synchronize with Incursio, the Teigu that Bulat entrusted to him. The armor rejects his unstable emotional state, leaving him unable to fight. In the capital, Esdeath returns from the northern campaign and accepts the Prime Minister’s order to form a new elite unit, the Jaegers, tasked with eliminating Night Raid. She personally selects Wave, a young soldier with the Grand Chariot armor; Run, a former teacher who wields the flying Teigu Zemurod; and Seryu, the justice-obsessed officer accompanied by her biological weapon Koro. Each joins with distinct motives: Wave seeks strength and recognition, Run pursues vengeance for his murdered students, and Seryu sees the unit as a means to eradicate what she considers evil. The Jaegers assemble in a formal ceremony, immediately establishing themselves as a coordinated threat. At the Night Raid hideout, Akame confronts Tatsumi, stating that his despair serves no purpose and that Bulat’s sacrifice obligates him to act. Tatsumi returns to the forest, accepts his anger and loss, and finally synchronizes with Incursio, unlocking its full armor form. The episode closes with the Jaegers deploying into the city on their first patrol while Night Raid regroups, aware that the enemy has now formed a dedicated force equal in skill and intent to their own.
16Episode 16
The episode opens with the burial of Bols. His wife and young daughter stand at the grave, receiving no condolences from the Jaegers. Seryu expresses contempt for Bols’s past as a mass murderer, but the other Jaegers remain silent. Night Raid gathers intelligence on the Jaegers’ patrol routes. Chelsea uses her Teigu, Gaea Foundation, to disguise herself as a young boy and infiltrates the capital. She waits for an opportunity to assassinate Kurome. When Kurome passes through an alley, Chelsea strikes, but the blow fails to kill her immediately. Kurome deploys her Teigu, Yatsufusa, summoning eight corpse puppets, including one that detects enemies through their bloodlust. The puppet forces Chelsea out of hiding. Kurome then decapitates Chelsea with her own Teigu. Meanwhile, Mine engages Syura in battle. Syura uses his Teigu, Shambhala, to teleport Mine into the air and drop her, but she survives and forces him to retreat. Tatsumi encounters Wave near the city wall; they exchange blows briefly before Wave withdraws to rejoin the Jaegers. Night Raid discovers Chelsea’s head mounted on a spike in the plaza. Najenda orders the group to abort any rescue attempt, and Tatsumi, struck by guilt over his hesitation to accompany Chelsea, vows to grow stronger. The Jaegers celebrate their victory as Esdeath returns from the north, intensifying the threat Night Raid faces.
17Kill the Curse
Esdeath captures Tatsumi following Lubbock’s death and places a curse on him that demands absolute obedience to her will. Tatsumi fights the curse’s mental command to kill his comrades, his resistance manifesting as visible physical strain. Mine, Leone, and Najenda track Esdeath’s location and prepare a rescue operation, moving through the capital under cover. Inside Esdeath’s headquarters, Tatsumi endures repeated waves of the curse’s control while Esdeath observes, anticipating his submission. Wave finds Kurome consuming drugs to sustain her combat ability and confronts her about the toll it takes on her body; Kurome deflects the concern by insisting she must remain useful to the Empire. Tatsumi’s Incursio adapts as his will to protect Night Raid overwhelms the curse, allowing him to break the binding and move freely. Mine’s sniper fire from a distant rooftop creates an opening, and Tatsumi escapes the building while Esdeath refrains from pursuit, instead remarking on his defiance with apparent satisfaction. Night Raid reunites outside the city, but the group carries the weight of Lubbock’s absence and acknowledges their narrowed numbers. Najenda relays intelligence that the Prime Minister has ordered a full-scale mobilization to eliminate Night Raid, placing the entire capital under surveillance. The team resolves to strike before the Empire can consolidate its forces, setting the stage for a direct confrontation with the capital’s remaining military might.
18Kill the Cursed
Tatsumi and Mine engage Seryu Ubiquitous and her transformed生物型帝具 Koro in the city ruins. Seryu detonates a hidden bomb within Koro, triggering a massive explosion meant to annihilate both Night Raid members. Susanoo intervenes, using his body to shield Tatsumi and Mine from the blast. The attack destroys Susanoo’s physical form, leaving only his core intact and severely weakening him. Mine carries Tatsumi to safety as the Imperial Army arrives to secure the area. After regrouping, Mine confesses her feelings to Tatsumi, stating she intends to fight alongside him without regret. Tatsumi accepts her words but remains focused on the mission against the Empire. Najenda reveals that Susanoo requires a long recovery period and cannot participate in upcoming operations. The episode ends with Esdeath’s return to the capital, where she immediately demands information on Night Raid’s recent activities, setting the stage for her direct confrontation with the group.
19Kill the Destiny
Night Raid retreats to the mountains after Susanoo’s destruction and Tatsumi’s capture. Akame sharpens her blade in silence, determined to retrieve Tatsumi. Leone and Mine argue over mounting a rescue, but Najenda orders them to wait for a clear opening. In the capital, Syura and the Jaegers torture Tatsumi to force out Night Raid’s location. Esdeath enters the chamber, stops the interrogation, and claims Tatsumi as her personal prisoner. She moves him to her quarters, intending to break his will and then claim him as her lover. Syura reports the incident to his father, Minister Honest, who grants him command of a new assassination squad. This unit, Wild Hunt, operates outside military law and begins slaughtering civilians and suspected rebel sympathizers. Wave witnesses the killings and questions his allegiance, while Kurome reaffirms her loyalty to Esdeath. Tatsumi refuses to submit, holding onto his resolve despite Esdeath’s advances. Wild Hunt’s rampage forces Night Raid to prepare a counterattack before the capital descends into further chaos.
20Kill the Despair
The Revolutionary Army forces enter the capital and engage the Imperial Army’s defensive lines. Esdeath positions herself on the battlefield and declares her intention to face Tatsumi alone. Tatsumi, now permanently fused with Incursio, confronts Esdeath; their clash shows his improved endurance, but Esdeath remains in control. Najenda orders the remaining Night Raid members to strike the Emperor’s ultimate Teigu, Shikoutazer, before it levels the city. Lubbock infiltrates the Teigu’s control mechanism and disables its barriers, but Syura’s elite guards ambush him. He kills several attackers before Syura captures and fatally wounds him; in his final moments, Lubbock confesses his feelings for Najenda. Mine fires Pumpkin at maximum output, breaching Shikoutazer’s armor and striking the Emperor inside. The Teigu retaliates with a massive energy blast that hits Mine, sending her plummeting from the sky. Tatsumi breaks away from Esdeath to catch Mine, but Esdeath pursues and blocks his path. Mine lies motionless on the ground as Tatsumi’s rage and desperation grow, while the damaged Shikoutazer prepares another devastating attack.
21Kill the Despair
Night Raid intercepts Mine as she attempts a solo rescue and instead launches a coordinated assault on the imperial stadium. In his cell,Tatsumi rejects Esdeath's offer to join her, stating he cannot ally with someone who revels in destruction; she accepts his refusal and declares she will execute him personally. At the public execution, Emperor Makoto denounces Tatsumi before Honest leads him away, leaving Esdeath to begin the sentence. Mine opens fire on the stadium, scattering the crowd, while Najenda detonates explosives planted by Lubbock to sow chaos. Akame fights through the imperial guard to retrieve the confiscated Incursio. Leone and Mine engage General Budou, but his lightning-based imperial arms paralyzes Leone and overwhelms Mine. Mine allows Budou to strike her repeatedly, using the damage to amplify Pumpkin's power to its limit; she counters his hidden technique, Solid Shooter, killing Budou and destroying her own imperial arm in the process. Below the arena, Najenda and Susanoo confront Esdeath, who activates her trump card, freezing time to shatter Susanoo's core. Najenda expends her life force to regenerate Susanoo using Magatama Manifestation, and Susanoo remains behind to buy time for the others to escape with Tatsumi. Akame frees Tatsumi, who dives to catch the collapsing Mine. Carried away from the capital, Mine confesses her love to Tatsumi and shares a final kiss before dying in his arms. With two of their members fallen, Night Raid retreats into the countryside as Esdeath emerges victorious from the stadium, leaving Akame and Kurome's long-awaited confrontation as the next imminent battle.
22Kill the Destructive Desire
Tatsumi confronts Esdeath in the imperial capital. Esdeath offers Tatsumi a final chance to join her and rule by her side, revealing her desire to preserve him as her ideal companion. Tatsumi refuses, declaring he will defeat her and end the Empire’s tyranny. Their battle commences with Esdeath unleashing her full power through her time-freezing ice abilities. Tatsumi, having fully synchronized with Incursio, withstands her assault and lands a critical blow. Meanwhile, Mine, recovering from her earlier injuries, infiltrates the palace with the other Night Raid members. She locates the Prime Minister and shoots him through the head, executing him. Honest’s death triggers chaos among the Imperial forces. Leone, having survived her previous wounds, engages in a separate struggle within the city. She kills a fleeing noble who had previously tortured her, fulfilling a personal vendetta. Wave and Kurome attempt to intervene in the main battle, but Kurome collapses from the strain of her corrupted Teigu. Wave chooses to retreat with her to save her life, abandoning the fight against Night Raid. Esdeath, wounded but unyielding, realizes Tatsumi’s growth matches her ideal of strength. She declares her intent to die alongside him, freezing the surrounding area to create a final, isolated arena. Tatsumi, accepting the inevitability of the confrontation, faces her alone as his Teigu begins to consume his body. The episode concludes with the two combatants charging at each other, their final clash imminent as the rest of Night Raid rushes to secure the capital.
23Kill the Emperor
Tatsumi, fully merged with Incursio, charges toward the imperial capital’s central palace. Akame engages Esdeath in a duel on the city’s outskirts. The Emperor activates the giant Teigu Shikoutazer and begins leveling entire districts. Wave intercepts Tatsumi, but the evolved Incursio’s speed and power overwhelm Wave’s Grand Chariot. Tatsumi reaches the Emperor’s cockpit just as Shikoutazer’s cannons target the revolutionary army’s main force. Inside, Tatsumi confronts the boy Emperor, who refuses to surrender despite witnessing the destruction his weapon causes. Tatsumi drives Incursio’s blade into the Teigu’s core, triggering a massive explosion that destroys Shikoutazer and kills the Emperor. Meanwhile, Akame lands a fatal cut on Esdeath with Murasame, but Esdeath encases both herself and Akame in ice to delay the curse’s spread. Tatsumi emerges from the ruins severely wounded, his body already succumbing to Incursio’s corruption. Akame breaks free from the ice, finds Esdeath dead, and carries Tatsumi away as the revolutionary army declares victory. Akame resolves to find a cure for Tatsumi before the curse consumes him completely.
