Description
Braht, also known by his epithet the 100 Man-Slayer, is a memorable supporting character from the series. He was a tall and well-built man with blue eyes and black hair that he famously styled into a prominent pompadour, a look he adopted after leaving the Empire, contrasting with the longer, unkempt style he wore during his military days.

A seasoned and powerful fighter, Braht was once a high-ranking officer in the Imperial Army, where he served with distinction and earned his fearsome nickname. His disillusionment with the Empire began when his superior officer was framed and imprisoned for refusing to follow the corrupt Prime Minister's agenda. Facing similar unjust charges himself, Braht became disgusted with a system that valued bribes over merit and chose to desert. He subsequently joined the Revolutionary Army and became a key member of the elite assassin group Night Raid, using his skills to fight against the very government he once served.

Despite his grim profession, Braht possessed an energetic, cheerful, and easy-going personality. He was a calm, cool-headed individual with high intelligence and a disciplined mindset. He understood the serious and bloody nature of his work and accepted that he might one day face retribution. Braht was a firm believer in rigorous training and served as a supportive and enthusiastic mentor to the group's newest member, Tatsumi. Their relationship was a close one; Braht saw great potential in the young recruit and treated him like a younger brother, a sentiment Tatsumi returned by calling him aniki. The narrative heavily hints that Braht was homosexual, and he would often make flirtatious remarks to Tatsumi, much to the latter's nervous embarrassment.

In the story, Braht's primary role is as a mentor and protector. He takes Tatsumi under his wing, teaching him the fundamentals of combat as an assassin, including the critical lesson of never letting emotions cloud one's judgment in battle. His most significant mission occurs when he and Tatsumi are assigned to protect a politician from a group of elite Imperial assassins known as the Three Beasts. During the ensuing battle, Braht single-handedly and effortlessly defeats one of the Three Beasts, Daidara, before being forced to confront his old comrade and former superior, Liver. The two former allies engage in a fierce duel. Although Braht manages to mortally wound Liver, he is fatally poisoned by Liver's final desperate attack, a blade of blood made lethal by a drug his former superior had ingested. Knowing his death is imminent, Braht entrusts his most prized possession, the powerful armor-type Teigu named Incursio, to Tatsumi. He dies with a smile, confident that his legacy will live on through his student.

Braht's abilities were immense. He was an incredibly skilled and versatile combatant, proficient with both a spear and a sword. His physical strength, tactical acumen, and situational awareness were so highly developed that other characters noted he might be the strongest member of Night Raid, with Esdeath herself singling him out as a threat who required special attention. His primary weapon, however, was his Teigu, Incursio. This Imperial Arm takes the form of a suit of living armor that greatly enhances the user's strength, speed, and defensive capabilities. Furthermore, Incursio grants its wielder the ability to turn completely invisible for a limited time, an ability Braht had mastered to such a degree that he could use it for extended periods and could even summon the armor without the need for its physical key.
