Eiji Takemoto is a Japanese voice actor born on March 7, 1973, in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. He is affiliated with the talent management firm Aoni Production. Takemoto's path to voice acting was inspired by a deep appreciation for cinema; having watched over 150 films during his middle school years, he initially aspired to work in dubbing foreign movies. He made his debut as a voice actor in 1993.

Takemoto is known for his versatility, often portraying a wide range of characters, from tough young men and authoritative figures to comedic roles and even elderly characters. His career has been marked by a steady presence in the industry, taking on numerous supporting roles before gaining wider recognition in the 2010s. He has also taken over voice roles previously performed by veteran actors Kazuyuki Sogabe and Koji Totani following their deaths.

Among his extensive list of credits are several prominent and recurring roles. He is well-known for voicing Renji Yanagi, the data master from Rikkai University附属中学, in the long-running sports anime The Prince of Tennis and its sequel series The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup. In the One Piece franchise, Takemoto has voiced multiple characters, including the pirate and Marine Admiral Drake (X Drake) in the film One Piece Stampede, as well as Ohm in the television special One Piece: Episode of Skypiea and other characters like Doberman and Roshio.

His filmography also features significant roles such as Hajime Tsukishima, a former sergeant in Golden Kamuy; Masayoshi Satsuki, a teacher in the basketball anime Ahiru no Sora; and both Katsumi Karasawa and Tetsuji Arafune in the science fiction series World Trigger. He provided the voice for TK McCabe in the anime adaptation of the comic Super Crooks. In the world of video games, he is recognized as the voice of Ishida Mitsunari in the Samurai Warriors series and its anime adaptation. Other notable roles include Rock Howard in The King of Fighters: Another Day, the Kumojacky character in Heartcatch Precure!, and multiple characters in the Hunter × Hunter anime, such as Uvogin and Bodoro. His work spans generations of anime, with recent credits including the 2024 series Rising Impact, where he voiced the character Wanglian Li.
