Description
Dirge serves as a Predacon warrior under Galvatron’s command aboard the starship Galvaburg II, operating almost exclusively alongside his partner and best friend Thrust. Together, they form a Manzai-style comedy duo where Dirge acts as the straight man, delivering precisely timed biting insults. Beyond combat, Dirge demonstrates notable skill as a Cybertronian gourmet, specializing in refining high-energy fuels—particularly oil—for enhanced potency and superior flavor.

He and Thrust join Galvatron’s campaign to harvest Angolmois Energy on Gaia, frequently clashing with Lio Convoy’s Maximals. Their effectiveness is often hampered by comedic rivalry with fellow Predacon fliers Starscream and BB. Missions include ambushing paralyzed Maximals, hunting Lio Convoy under Megastorm’s orders, setting underwater traps, overseeing Autoroller construction crews, and conducting surveillance. These endeavors typically end in failure or humiliation, such as entrapment in Starscream’s bug-zapper net or burial in missile-triggered rockslides.

Seeking greater power, Dirge voluntarily undergoes an Angolmois Energy transfusion from Gigastorm (formerly Megastorm), mutating into the Cyborg Beast Dirgegun with a cybernetic wasp beast mode. He retains his comedic rapport with Thrust—now mutated into Thrustor—but develops a crueler edge, indulging in elaborate pranks and deploying computer viruses that force targets into self-humiliating behavior. Dirgegun swears loyalty to Gigastorm post-transformation.

As Dirgegun, his combat capabilities significantly enhance with the "Needle Shot" missile launcher, which injects destabilizing viruses, and the "Blaster Leader" sonic attack that overloads audio receptors. Technical evaluations note persistent weaknesses from his original character defects, including low courage ratings.

Dirgegun participates in the Predacons’ final battles against Maximals and their allies on the artificial planet Nemesis. During the planet’s destruction, he escapes the explosion. Though his immediate status remains unresolved in *Beast Wars II*, he later reappears on Cybertron alongside other Predacons during *Beast Wars Neo*, confirming his survival.
