Description
In the sequel series Kinnikuman Nisei, known as Ultimate Muscle, the character Chloe is the assumed identity of Warsman, a former antagonist from the original Kinnikuman manga and anime. He discards his past name and legacy to take on this new persona and serve a specific, self-appointed purpose.
Chloe appears as a mysterious and highly skilled figure who offers his services as the personal trainer and second for Kevin Mask, the son of Robin Mask. His entire motivation revolves around a profound sense of debt and loyalty to the Mask family. He expects no payment for his services, stating that his only reward would be to see Kevin win the championship belt. This dedication runs so deep that he renounces his original Russian citizenship to become the same nationality as Kevin, a necessary requirement to legally act as his second in the official tournament, the Chojin Olympics.
Within the story, Chloe plays a pivotal role as Kevin Mask's strategist, mentor, and closest confidant. He first appears during the final preliminary event, the Wheezy Wheezy Three-Legged Race, where he partners with Kevin and demonstrates immediate tactical acumen, such as advising Kevin to spin with a rotating log to maintain balance. Throughout the Chojin Olympics: The Resurrection arc, Chloe is a constant presence at Kevin’s side, helping him train in airports and parks, and providing critical advice during matches. He is also shown to be deeply concerned for Kevin's well-being, searching for him when he is late for a match and finding him unconscious after a punishing solo training session in a sauna. Their bond is unique; Chloe is one of the few individuals who can calm Kevin and command his obedience without question.
Their relationship is a complex blend of professional duty and genuine friendship. Kevin initially doubts the effectiveness of Chloe’s teachings, but a strong partnership develops over time. They are often in perfect sync, even staging a fake fight to escape a mandatory parade so they could resume training. Chloe is fiercely protective of Kevin's success, at one point directly ordering him not just to win a match but to destroy his opponent, Ilioukhine. This command creates a powerful internal conflict for Chloe, as Ilioukhine is a fellow Russian, and Chloe has renounced his citizenship to aid Kevin. He ultimately overcomes this hesitation, swearing that he is utterly Kevin Mask’s second, and his guidance helps Kevin secure the victory.
Chloe’s character undergoes a significant development that culminates in the revelation of his true identity. His disguise is shattered near the end of the tournament when his mask breaks as he catches the fainted Kevin in his arms. It is then revealed that Chloe is Warsman, a legendary chojin who was once a rival of Robin Mask. In the original series, Robin Mask showed Warsman mercy and honor, and Chloe’s service to Kevin is his way of repaying that debt. After his identity is exposed, he passes the Robin family technique book to Kevin and departs, though he continues to watch over Kevin secretly in later story arcs, occasionally intervening to save his life.
In terms of abilities, Chloe is a highly formidable fighter and tactician. As the disguised Warsman, he possesses a vast array of wrestling techniques, including the devastating Russian Warsman Kick and other maneuvers from his original repertoire. His true value, however, lies in his strategic mind. He consistently analyzes opponents' weaknesses, devises match strategies, and provides technical instructions to Kevin in real-time during fights. He is also an expert trainer capable of pushing Kevin to his physical limits. His physical prowess is hinted at when he effortlessly wields a bladed weapon during a training session, cutting Kevin's shirt to reveal his protective armor before being pinned in a sparring match. Chloe’s most remarkable ability may be his skill in disguise and concealment, allowing him to hide his identity as a famous past wrestler for an extended period while operating in plain sight within the wrestling community.
