Junji Majima
Description
Junji Majima is a Japanese voice actor born on May 13, 1978, in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. He is affiliated with the talent agency I'm Enterprise.
Majima's interest in voice acting began in elementary school, sparked by his love for anime such as Mashin Eiyuuden Wataru and his admiration for voice actor Koichi Yamadera. Despite his parents' hopes for him to pursue a more conventional career, he decided to become a voice actor during his second year of high school. He trained at the Yoyogi Animation Academy in Nagoya and the Japan Narration Acting Institute. His professional debut came in 1999 when he voiced the character Shin Inaho in the video game Memories Off, a role he has continued to play across various sequels and adaptations in the series for over two decades.
Throughout his career, Majima has established himself as a versatile performer, taking on a wide array of lead and supporting roles. He is particularly well-known for portraying sincere and often ordinary male protagonists, sometimes finding themselves in extraordinary or comedic situations. One of his most iconic roles is Ryuji Takasu in the romantic comedy Toradora!. His performance earned him praise from co-star Rie Kugimiya, who called him the "real-life Ryuji" due to their shared character traits, such as a talent for cooking and cleaning. Other prominent lead roles include the zombie protagonist Ayumu Aikawa in Is This a Zombie?, Kinji Tōyama in Aria the Scarlet Ammo, Tōru Acura in Chaika - The Coffin Princess, and Kimihito Kurusu in Monster Musume.
In addition to these lead performances, Majima has a significant presence in supporting and recurring roles across many popular series. Examples from the user's list include Takemikazuchi in the Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? franchise, Ryunosuke Chiba in Assassination Classroom, Tōru Miyagishi in Hanasaku Iroha, and Stunk in Interspecies Reviewers. His filmography also includes roles in long-running and critically acclaimed series such as JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind as Melone, Shirobako as Yuuichirou Shimoyanagi, and My Hero Academia as the hero Trumpet. He has also voiced characters in the works featured in the prompt, such as Daigo Todoroki in Love After World Conquest, Hideomi Iba in Sirius the Jaeger, and Masato Sanada in High School Prodigies Have It Easy Even In Another World.
Majima's work extends beyond television animation into original video animations (OVAs), theatrical films, and video games. He has a long-standing association with the Disgaea game series, where he provides the voice for the iconic Prinnies. He also voices characters in the Fire Emblem and Memories Off game series. For work in adult-oriented visual novels, he sometimes uses the pseudonym Kiya Suga.
Outside of voice acting, Majima is known for his friendly and humorous personality. He is an avid cook, with homemade gyoza being a specialty, and a passionate fan of the Kamen Rider tokusatsu series, often sharing photos of his merchandise collection on his blog. He is also a member of the voice actor group DABA.
