Gunpei Kamafusa, a secondary figure in *Mutsu-kabe Hill*, toils as a part-time gardener for the affluent Osato family while clandestinely romancing Naoko Osato, their heiress. Their affair remains concealed to avoid her father’s disdain for Gunpei’s lower social standing. His striking appearance features a shaved head etched with a lightning bolt design, paired with an "SBR"-logo polo shirt and shorts. Artistic interpretations vary, depicting him with fair or tan skin, gray or blond hair, and attire shifting between blue and green hues. Prone to impulsiveness and volatility, Gunpei reacts explosively when Naoko slaps him during a quarrel, briefly restraining her before crumbling into remorse. The altercation turns fatal as Naoko accidentally shoves him onto golf clubs, resulting in a skull-piercing injury that kills him. His corpse defies natural decay, bleeding ceaselessly, mummifying swiftly, and briefly reviving his visage when sprayed with water. Naoko conceals his body first in the Osato guest room, then relocates it to their attic. She later conceives twins—a daughter and a son destined for gardening—despite Gunpei’s death. This paradox stems from the Mutsu-kabe Hill Yokai possessing his corpse, an entity craving witnessed death to spawn offspring. The yokai sustains Gunpei’s body in unending decomposition while enabling supernatural procreation. Gunpei’s story exists solely within *Mutsu-kabe Hill*, intertwining forbidden romance, violent accidents, and spectral repercussions. His tragic fate merges with folklore, binding him to a legacy of macabre destiny and supernatural lineage.
