Tilo Schmitz is a prolific German voice actor, born in Radebeul in 1959, who has lent his distinctive deep bass voice to a vast array of characters in animation and film. He studied acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin from 1982 to 1986 and was engaged at the State Theater in Cottbus until 1989, when he moved to West Berlin and began his career as a freelance voice actor.
Schmitz is particularly well-known in Germany for being the official dubbing voice for several prominent Hollywood actors, including the late Michael Clarke Duncan, Ving Rhames, Ron Perlman, and Christopher Judge. His powerful and sonorous voice has made him a sought-after talent for dubbing live-action and animated projects, including video games, radio plays, and as a station voice for broadcasters like ProSieben, Sat.1, and N24.
