Description
Hailing from Gundalia's ruling dynasty, Barodius seized the throne and immediately defied his predecessor. He aggressively pursued the Sacred Orb, an artifact his father had feared, igniting the Neathian-Gundalian War. Barodius openly scorned his father as a "superstitious old fool," destroying his portrait. His goal was to harness the Orb's power to extract every Bakugan's DNA code, forging the ultimate Bakugan to dominate all reality. He commanded through sheer force and an uncanny ability to coordinate simultaneous battles. Though Gill remained his lifelong friend and confidant, most of his ruling council, the Twelve Orders, obeyed out of terror, not loyalty.
As Gundalia's Emperor, Barodius governed the Twelve Orders with ruthless pragmatism. He exhibited zero tolerance for failure, exemplified by punishing Sid Arkale for losing the vital energy source known as the Element. Barodius exploited useful assets like Ren Krawler, retaining him solely to access Linehalt's Forbidden Power. His favoritism overrode reason; discovering Gill killed Kazarina led him to execute both Gill and Airzel. He deployed deceit, using Kazarina to spy on former advisor Nurzak, who opposed the war. When Nurzak sought peace with Neathia, Barodius crushed the rebellion, banishing Nurzak to an interdimensional void and eliminating loyalist soldiers.
In the war, Barodius targeted Neathia to claim the Sacred Orb, deploying brainwashed human brawlers and Gundalian troops. He evolved his partner Bakugan Dharak into Phantom Dharak for greater devastation. Ignoring repeated warnings about the Orb's peril, he shattered Neathia's shields and invaded its capital. Defeated by Dan Kuso in their final clash, Barodius defiantly seized the Orb. This triggered a catastrophic energy backlash, seemingly annihilating him. Instead, he and Dharak were imprisoned within a dark reverse dimension in Bakugan Interspace, where the Orb's corruption mutated them into armored entities: Barodius became Mag Mel, and Dharak transformed into Razenoid.
As Mag Mel, Barodius clung to his tyrannical ambitions but descended into heightened obsession and paranoia. He despised acknowledgment of his former self, viewing it as a mark of defeat. Manipulating Dan and Drago's link to Chaos energy, he spawned destructive Mechtogan. To regain power, he crafted artificial servants—Anubias and Sellon—to infiltrate Bakugan Interspace and steal Dan's "Gate and Key," artifacts tied to Bakugan evolution. Absorbing their life forces after their failure, Mag Mel invaded Gundalia for vengeance, deploying cloned Mechtogan like Razen Titan and Dreadeon to ravage Earth. His scheme peaked with the construction of the "Dark Moon" to torment non-brawlers. In a final battle, Dan and Drago, wielding evolved Fusion Dragonoid, destroyed Mag Mel's Gate and Key, eradicating him and Razenoid permanently.
Barodius's arc spanned imperial conqueror to mutated entity, marked by unrelenting ambition, strategic cruelty, and an absolute refusal to accept defeat—a trajectory fueled by supremacy that culminated in his destruction.
