Samia Little Elk
Description
Samia Little Elk is a German voice actress known for her work in dubbing anime and other animated series for the German-language market. Born in Berlin in 1979, she began her career in voice acting in 2001. In addition to her work as a speaker, she holds a doctorate in medicine, having completed her dissertation in 2006.
Little Elk has provided the German voice for a number of notable anime characters. One of her prominent early roles was as the voice of the quiet and animal-loving Sakaki in the series Azumanga Daioh and its associated short film, Azumanga Daioh - The Very Short Movie. She also voiced the complex protagonist Lucy, also known as Nyū, in the psychological thriller Elfen Lied in 2007. Another significant role came in 2009 when she began voicing Rei Ayanami in the Rebuild of Evangelion film series. Her film work also includes the role of Marie in the 2010 anime film Welcome to THE SPACE SHOW.
Beyond these roles, her extensive voice work in anime includes characters in series such as Angelic Layer, where she voiced Chitose Tanaka, and early episodes of Detektiv Conan. She has also lent her voice to non-anime animated projects, such as the character Stormy in the Winx Club series and Nori in Barbie Fairytopia.
Little Elk is a co-founder of the media company SAMIVO media, which has produced audiobooks such as the Ulk der kleine Sternenjunge series, to which she has also contributed as a narrator. In some of her earlier roles, she was credited under her birth name, Samia Ouail.
