Vincent De Bouard
Description
Vincent de Boüard is a French actor born in 1967, widely recognized for his extensive work in dubbing, particularly in anime and live-action series. His career began in theater at the age of eighteen, following initial training at the Conservatoire municipal d'art dramatique de Meudon and private courses. He spent two decades working in theater before being introduced to the art of dubbing by fellow actors Danielle Perret and Vincent Violette, who noticed him during a performance. This transition led to a prolific second career where he became a familiar voice to French audiences.
De Boüard is perhaps best known as the regular French voice of Ichigo Kurosaki, the protagonist of the long-running anime series Bleach and its sequel, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. Another iconic role is that of the enigmatic Near in the anime series Death Note. His work in the anime world is extensive and includes a wide variety of characters. He voices Kibitoshin, the East Supreme Kai, in Dragon Ball Z Kai and Dragon Ball Super, and plays Uta in Tokyo Ghoul, Ritsu Kageyama in Mob Psycho 100, and Yūichirō Hyakuya in Seraph of the End.
In addition to these prominent roles, De Boüard has contributed to many other popular anime series, often taking on multiple characters within a single show. For instance, in the Assassination Classroom franchise, he voices both Taiga Okajima and Sosuke Sugaya, roles he reprised in Koro Sensei Quest!. His filmography also includes the role of Sho Hinakawa in the second season of Psycho-Pass, Heisuke Todo in Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom, Soma Asman Kadar in Black Butler: Book of Murder, and Soichi Tomoe in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal: Season III. He has also lent his voice to characters in series such as Fruits Basket, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, and the animated series Atout 5.
Beyond animation, De Boüard is a regular dubbing voice for several American actors in live-action productions. He is notably the French voice for Joel David Moore and Christopher Denham, and has also dubbed actors such as Blake Bashoff, DJ Qualls, Ryan Kennedy, Lukas Haas, and Erik Knudsen. In parallel with his dubbing career, he continues to work in theater and has also provided his voice for various media, including cultural programs and advertisements for Radio France. His on-screen appearances include roles in films such as Chouans!, Les Caprices d'un fleuve, and J'accuse, as well as television series like PJ and Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie.
