Takeru is a 15-year-old third-generation Eden resident, born within the lunar colony's dome after Earth's demise. Standing 170 cm tall, he favors a replica Apollo Program jacket. His personality blends warmth, cheerfulness, and rebellion, marked by a distinct shyness around girls. He harbors a deep fascination with Earth, defying Eden's norms.
His primary passion involves building and racing customized lunar "Vehicles" alongside friends Kazuma and Bismarck. Following a racing accident, community service outside the dome leads him to discover a crashed capsule. Inside, photographs and messages reveal Earth is habitable, featuring a young woman named Ao. This discovery ignites an obsession to verify Earth's condition.
Driven by curiosity and the desire to find Ao, Takeru probes Eden's censored archives and ventures beyond lunar boundaries in a moon rover. He confirms Earth's recovery, witnessing its blue sphere firsthand, and uncovers Eden's authoritarian control, including surveillance bracelets and information suppression. With Bismarck's aid, he commandeers an escape rocket bound for Earth.
The rocket crash-lands in the ruins of Las Vegas. Takeru embarks on a cross-country journey to Florida's Kennedy Space Center using his Vehicle. On Earth, he encounters diverse communities and eventually locates Ao. His experiences shift his focus from personal curiosity to fostering coexistence between Earth's inhabitants and Eden's citizens.
Reuniting with Ao, Takeru learns of Eden's plans to reclaim Earth. He returns alone to the moon to negotiate peace, confronting Eden's council and his estranged friend Kazuma, now within Eden's leadership. Takeru advocates for mutual understanding, leading to a physical altercation with Kazuma that resolves their conflict. His efforts result in Eden's citizens relocating to Earth using repurposed Mars colony ships.
After a two-year separation during Earth's resettlement, Takeru reunites with Ao in Florida. He evolves from a rebellious racer into a determined bridge between worlds, motivated by idealism and a commitment to freedom.
