Daisuke Namikawa

Description
Daisuke Namikawa is a prominent Japanese voice actor, singer, and actor born in Tokyo on April 2, 1976. He began his career in entertainment as a child actor in 1985 at the age of nine, joining a theatrical troupe. He is a graduate of Tokyo International University. A lesser-known fact is that his registered birthday is April 2nd, though his actual birth date is March 29th, due to administrative procedures related to the school year.

Namikawa's career is marked by an extraordinary vocal range, allowing him to portray a wide spectrum of characters, from kind-hearted young heroes to cold and menacing villains. He is frequently cast as charming or morally ambiguous characters, such as the manipulative yet beloved Hisoka Morow in Hunter x Hunter (2011) and the enigmatic Ulquiorra Cifer in Bleach. In contrast, he has also delivered memorable performances as earnest protagonists like Rock in Black Lagoon and Shota Kazehaya in Kimi ni Todoke. Many of the roles listed by the user exemplify this range, including the brutal Eustass Kid in One Piece, the strategic Lord El-Melloi II in the Fate series, the stoic Goemon Ishikawa XIII in the Lupin III franchise, the vengeful Choso in Jujutsu Kaisen, and the fatherly Ruijerd Superdia in Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation.

He maintains a significant presence in the anime industry through recurring roles in long-running franchises. In addition to those mentioned by the user, his notable and enduring roles include Yu Narukami in the Persona 4 animations, Italy and Romano in the Hetalia series, and Toru Oikawa in Haikyuu!!. His work is not limited to anime; he is also the official Japanese dubbing voice for American actor Elijah Wood, most famously for his role as Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, and for Canadian actor Hayden Christensen, including his portrayal of Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels. This extensive work in film dubbing earned him the nickname "Oscar dubbing voice actor" in Japan.

In 2010, Namikawa made his directorial debut with the live-action film Wonderful World, in which he also starred alongside a host of other famous voice actors. His contributions to the industry were recognized the same year when he won the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the 4th Seiyu Awards. A natural leader and entrepreneur, he founded his own talent management agency, Stay Luck, in April 2014 after leaving his previous agency. He has also been involved in music, forming the unit "Uncle Bomb" with fellow voice actor Hiroyuki Yoshino and releasing a solo mini-album titled "ID".
