Description
The Moonlight Barone, a mazoku initially ruling Rome, possesses blond ponytailed hair, green eyes, white horns, elf-like ears, and a tail. He typically wears a purple outfit with white accents on sleeves and shoulders. His demeanor blends distant enigma—frequently dismissing others' comprehension—with occasional feminine gestures like combing his hair using Battle Spirits cards. This reserve shatters in combat, revealing a savage, violent style.

Barone governed Rome under a system where humans battled for freedom, though none defeated him. His antagonistic role shifted upon witnessing Dan Bashin's fight against Duc, sparking fascination with Dan's human Brave abilities. Defying orders, Barone challenged and defeated Dan in their first encounter but was profoundly affected by Dan's destruction of his spirit companion, Strike-Siegwurm. This triggered Barone's gradual transformation, drawing scrutiny from mazoku like Zazie. After losing a rematch to Dan, Barone permitted the spaceship Sophia's passage to Oct, exposing his collaboration and leading to banishment by Queen Gilfam. During exile, he rescued humans from an earthquake, contemplated Dan's ideals, and joined the quest for the 12 Zodiac X-rares.

A pivotal revelation occurred when genetic analysis proved mazoku and humans identical, challenging Barone's core beliefs and pride. Despite turmoil, he accepted this truth and opposed the conspiracy of Geraid and Zazie. He obtained the spirit Lunatech-Strikewurm during this journey, engaged in critical battles, and suffered severe injuries from a loss against the roboticized Duc. After Queen Gilfam's staged murder, Barone briefly returned to Oct to restore order but fell to Zazie's alter ego, Izaz. In the climax, he dueled Dan for the sacrificial role of "pulling the trigger" with the Zodiac X-rares. Barone lost; Dan performed the sacrifice. Barone then advocated human-mazoku peace in the new world, symbolically shaking hands with human representative Clackey.

Ten years later in Saga Brave, Barone remained mazoku leader. Surviving an assassination attempt by Cardinal Sign, he fought Gratos to protect his people until Dan Bashin unexpectedly intervened. Post-conflict, Barone investigated Cardinal Sign and announced plans for a world resolving disputes through cards instead of weapons.

During Gallet's Revolution, the Unified Government's discriminatory policies against Mauves and dissidents forced Barone from power. Hiding as "The Master" under a mask, he founded an island sanctuary for oppressed races and ruled peacefully. There, he guided Gallet Revolt to retrieve the Mazoku Card from a flame-sealed chamber, recognizing Gallet as a "Core's Light Bearer." Barone challenged Gallet to an Armed Machines deck duel, stressing that while inherent "color" is immutable, actions reshape the future. He provided research on Human, Mazoku, and Mauve Cards, directing Gallet toward the South Pole. Observing Gallet's departure unmasked, Barone reflected on Dan's legacy and deemed Gallet the world's necessary hero. Later, he witnessed Varte Parx's war declaration against the Unified Government alongside his citizens.
