TV-Series
Description
Jirō is a character from the anime Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens, known for his cheerful demeanor and his grim profession as an avenger, a type of hitman who specializes in revenge killings. Before entering the criminal underworld, Jirō worked as a hairdresser, a past life that contrasts sharply with his later activities. His career change was precipitated by a profound personal tragedy: his lover was murdered by a killer, an event that directly motivated him to become an avenger.

Personality-wise, Jirō is described as a generally cheerful and attentive individual. Despite working in an unsavory line of work, he maintains a pleasant and approachable front. This duality is a common trait among the main cast of the series, who are depicted as capable of brutal professionalism while also enjoying ordinary social activities. In Jirō's case, his caring nature is most evident in his role as a foster father. He is the guardian of an elementary school-aged girl named Misaki, who also serves as his assistant. His relationship with Misaki defines much of his personal life; he is an attentive parent, even if his daughter sometimes accompanies him on jobs.

The backstory of how Jirō and Misaki came to live together is dark and central to his character. Jirō was hired to kill Misaki's father, who had been abusing her. Upon completing the job, he found Misaki, who was thin and bore the scars of her mistreatment. She was so grateful to be free from her abuser that she thanked Jirō for killing her father. From that point on, Jirō took her in, and they have lived together as a makeshift father and daughter ever since.

In his professional role, Jirō is known as the "very beautiful revenge demon," a title that speaks to his skill and fearsome reputation. He does not work alone; his partnership with Misaki is also professional. Her youth and acting skills are used to help approach targets, facilitating his revenge jobs. While he is a member of the ensemble cast that makes up the Hakata Tonkatsu Ramens baseball team, his primary narrative role is that of a dedicated father and a professional avenger whose past loss drives his current actions. He does not undergo a significant transformation throughout the story, but his unwavering commitment to Misaki provides a stable and humanizing presence within the group of criminals.
