Description
Rumaty Ivan Di Raginei is the second prince of the oil-rich fictional Southeast Asian kingdom of Raginei, positioned next in line for the throne after his elder brother, Somand. His late grandfather, King Machaty (also spelled Mahaty), transformed Raginei through oil exports. Rumaty bears a strong physical and personality resemblance to Machaty, sharing similar facial features and leadership qualities, but possesses distinctive "oriental blue" eyes that earn him a nickname from Kajika Burnsworth.

Raised in isolation within the palace, Rumaty initially conceals his deeper qualities beneath an arrogant, bratty exterior and actively resists royal formalities, like refusing traditional head coverings. This seclusion fostered social inexperience, a natural tendency to issue commands, and a lack of genuine friendships. His early personality includes a hair-trigger temper and a strong sense of honor before reason. He exhibits intense "Big Brother Worship" towards Somand, a devotion tragically shattered when Somand, growing paranoid over Rumaty's popularity, attempts to have him assassinated, forging a Cain and Abel dynamic.

Rumaty's life transforms during a visit to Hong Kong where he meets Kajika Burnsworth. He rescues her from an aggressive suitor in a greenhouse, sparking an immediate connection. Their shared experiences—including escaping assassination attempts by Somand's guards—highlight their similarities: both raised in isolation, stubborn, headstrong, and inspiring loyalty. Rumaty develops deep romantic feelings for Kajika. He gifts her his head covering as a gesture of trust and shares a childhood marriage promise to wed if neither finds another by adulthood. He becomes the first to kiss her, unaware during these developments that they are first cousins through their grandfather Machaty.

Exiled by Somand under threat of death, Rumaty spends two years under Harry Burnsworth's protection. During this exile, he matures significantly while receiving diplomatic tutoring from Li Ren Huang. Forced deeper into hiding after a failed assassination, he witnesses Li Ren shot during a coup. This event triggers a profound shift in his priorities, moving from reclaiming the throne to protecting loved ones. He eventually returns to Raginei amid political turmoil, supported by factions including Isaac Noei's militant group. Following Somand's death, Rumaty ascends as the 75th king, evolving into a wise and proactive ruler dedicated to restoring stability, embodying the qualities of "The Good King" exemplified by his grandfather.
