Description
"W'z" is a 13-episode anime series that serves as a spin-off and sequel to the 2014 anime "Hand Shakers." The story centers on Yukiya, a teenage DJ who lives with his older sister, Hazuki, and aspires to make a name for himself in the underground music scene. Yukiya stumbles into a mysterious virtual world known as "Gott," where individuals called "Hand Shakers" engage in battles using unique weapons and abilities. These battles are tied to a system where Hand Shakers must defeat others to ascend a tower and reach the "Top of God," where their deepest desires can supposedly be granted.
Yukiya becomes entangled in this world after accidentally forming a contract with a young girl named Hayato, who is revealed to be a "Ziggy," a being created to assist Hand Shakers in their battles. As Yukiya navigates Gott, he encounters other Hand Shakers, each with their own motivations and struggles. The series explores themes of ambition, identity, and the consequences of pursuing one's desires, as Yukiya grapples with the moral implications of the battles and the true nature of the world he has entered.
The narrative also delves into the backstory of Hayato, who harbors a mysterious connection to the origins of Gott and its system. As Yukiya and Hayato grow closer, they uncover secrets about the virtual world and the forces manipulating it. The series builds toward a climactic confrontation that challenges the characters' understanding of their reality and the choices they have made.
"W'z" incorporates elements of action, drama, and science fiction, with a focus on the relationships between its characters and the ethical dilemmas posed by the Hand Shaker system. The series maintains a fast-paced narrative, blending intense battles with moments of introspection as the characters confront their personal struggles and the broader implications of their actions within Gott.
