Jun Fukuyama is a prominent Japanese voice actor and singer born on November 26, 1978, in Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture, and raised in Takatsuki, Osaka Prefecture. He is affiliated with the talent agency BLACK SHIP, which he co-founded with fellow voice actor Shinnosuke Tachibana in 2018, where he also serves as a representative director and CEO.

Fukuyama's path to voice acting began during his high school years when he enrolled at the Aoni Juku Osaka training school, motivated by a classmate's interest in the profession. He made his professional debut in 1997 with a narration role for a radio commercial and his anime debut followed in 1998 with minor parts, including in Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight. His first starring role in an anime was as Akira Kamoi in Invincible King Tri-Zenon in 2000.

Fukuyama's career-defining moment came in 2006 when he was cast as Lelouch Lamperouge in the hit series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. His nuanced performance as the charismatic and complex anti-hero brought him widespread recognition and critical acclaim. This role earned him the Best Lead Actor Award at the inaugural Seiyu Awards in 2007 and the Best Voice Actor award at the Tokyo International Anime Fair in 2009, solidifying his status as a leading talent in the industry. He also won the Overseas Fan's Choice Award at the third Seiyu Awards.

Following this breakthrough, Fukuyama took on a wide array of iconic roles that showcased his vocal range. He portrayed the put-upon Kimihiro Watanuki in xxxHOLiC, the traveling merchant Kraft Lawrence in Spice and Wolf, the composed exorcist Yukio Okumura in Blue Exorcist, the fairy king Harlequin in The Seven Deadly Sins, and the eccentric, tentacled teacher Koro-sensei in Assassination Classroom. In the same year as Code Geass, he also voiced Grell Sutcliff in Black Butler and Kazuki Muto in Busō Renkin. He continued to take on leading roles in the 2010s, such as the chuunibyou-afflicted high school student Yuta Togashi in Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions, the cynical Ichimatsu Matsuno in Mr. Osomatsu, and the charismatic protagonist Ren Amamiya (Joker) in the adaptation of the game Persona 5. He is also known for roles like the information broker Shinra Kishitani in Durarara!!, the kind-hearted Sōta Takanashi in Working!!, the pragmatic Finral Roulacase in Black Clover, and the dual roles of the young king and his brother in Kingdom.

His more recent and ongoing work includes Akane Yanagi in Horimiya, Takafumi in Uncle From Another World, Riku in Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon, L'Arc Berg in The Rising of The Shield Hero, and Ike in The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army was a Human. He continues to voice King in the later installments of The Seven Deadly Sins franchise and Leon Cromwell in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. In addition to his extensive anime work, Fukuyama is also active in video games, with prominent roles such as Roy in the Fire Emblem series and the protagonist in Persona 5.

Beyond voice acting, Fukuyama has pursued a solo music career. He released his first solo album, Romantic World 31, in 2009 and began releasing singles under the Pony Canyon label in 2017, starting with "KEEP GOING ON!" to commemorate his 20th anniversary in the industry. He has also hosted radio programs and performed in live events. His business acumen is demonstrated through his role as co-founder and CEO of BLACK SHIP, reflecting his evolution from performer to industry leader.
