Komari Kishigami is a second-year student at Kyoto Fushimi High School and a member of the Kyoto Fushimi High Bicycle Racing Club, having held a regular position on the team since his first year. He has somewhat long blue hair with pink streaks that he typically keeps held back with a thick headband, and his eyes, usually narrow, become wide and manic when he is excited. At first glance, Komari possesses a calm and poised demeanor paired with a polite manner of speaking, his default expression a placid smile that makes him quiet and unassuming. This sharply contrasts with his teammate Akira Midousuji. However, this tranquility vanishes when he encounters what he considers good muscle, as he becomes extremely excited and is known for his skill in giving massages, able to judge the quality of a person's muscle simply by touching it. Komari is first introduced as a new member who specializes in this massage role. He accompanies Akira Midousuji to observe the new Sohoku team during their training camp. It is here that he meets Sakamichi Onoda. Initially unimpressed by Onoda's appearance, Komari is shocked upon feeling his muscles, quickly sensing his latent potential. Later, Komari replaces Yasutomo Hironishi as Kyoto Fushimi's sixth competitor in the Inter High race, transitioning from a support-based role to a fully active competitor on the national stage. Komari is deeply dedicated to his team, and his key relationship is with Akira Midousuji, whose chaotic energy he balances with his own collected nature. His recognition of Sakamichi Onoda's physical gifts marks him as a perceptive observer of athletic ability. His notable abilities include his highly developed tactile perception for assessing muscle quality and his proven ability as a cyclist, which ensures he can capably fill a competitive spot for Kyoto Fushimi during the Inter High.
