Description
Yasuo Hazuki, known as Hose, attends Toshobu High School as a second-year student and acts as a rival to Amatsuyu "Joro" Kisaragi. He bears a strong resemblance to Joro, sharing similar facial features, dark purple or black hair, and blue eyes, though Hose stands slightly taller with shinier hair and a deeper voice.

Hose displays two contrasting personas: a carefully constructed "Nice Guy" facade and his genuine self. His public identity radiates exceptional kindness, flawless manners, and a "blinding smile," perfectly embodying the ideal rom-com protagonist. This act proves so convincing it deceives others, including Sumireko "Pansy" Sanshokuin, into believing in his altruism. He leverages this persona to manipulate situations without seeming culpable, often dismissing others' feelings as accidental oversights. His true nature, however, is manipulative, cunning, and possessive—especially concerning Pansy, whom he views as property. This darker self surfaces when provoked or challenged.

His abilities include masterfully maintaining his kind facade and skillfully utilizing disguises to alter his appearance and behavior, enabling him to blend into varied scenarios.

Hose's history with Pansy traces back to middle school, where he intervened to remove malicious individuals from her life. He later pressured her into a romantic relationship, which she rejected. Despite her rejection, he publicly defended her decision to protect his image. Within the series events, Hose appears in the background during Joro's dates with Sakura "Cosmos" Akino and Aoi "Himawari" Hinata—seen browsing a clothing store with Cherry and dining with his childhood friend Tsukimi. A significant encounter occurs when Hose meets Joro at Mizuyama Park (or school grounds in the light novel); there, Hose buys a chrysanthemum smoothie and advises Joro to "try anything" when uncertain, briefly inspiring him.

Hose's primary motivation is his obsession with Pansy, driving him to undermine Joro. He schemes by exploiting his "Nice Guy" image to isolate Pansy and manipulate social dynamics. His true nature is eventually exposed by Pansy, leading to his downfall. His childhood friend Tsukimi and admirer Momo "Cherry" Sakurabara initially remain unaware of his duplicity, though their relationships with him become strained after his exposure. The kanji for "moon" (月) in both his surname and Joro's surname symbolically connects them, while his nickname "Hose" (a play on his given name) reinforces his role as Joro's superior counterpart—positioning a hose as functionally superior to a watering can ("Joro").
