Description
Hakuryuu serves as a formidable forward and team captain in the film Inazuma Eleven GO: Kyūkyoku no Kizuna Griffon, initially leading the team Unlimited Shining and later co-captaining Team Zero alongside the mysterious player Shuu. His background is tied directly to God Eden, a secluded island facility where the authoritarian Fifth Sector trains young athletes to become SEEDs, players conditioned to follow rigid, emotionless commands in soccer matches. It is within this environment that Kyousuke Tsurugi, a former SEED himself, recognizes Hakuryuu, indicating a shared past within this oppressive system.

In terms of personality, Hakuryuu initially appears as a cold and overwhelmingly powerful player, his eyes devoid of the fiery competitive spirit one might expect. Tsurugi notes a distinct change in him during their first match, observing that Hakuryuu stands unnaturally still, unleashing devastating techniques without the typical desire to win. This behavior reflects the dehumanizing training of Fifth Sector, which prioritizes controlled victory over genuine passion. However, beneath this exterior lies a natural arrogance and pride in his abilities, qualities that are slowly chipped away as the story progresses. He is portrayed as a more grounded counterpart to the ethereal Shuu, displaying very human traits such as hostility toward opponents and a capacity for personal growth.

Hakuryuu's motivations are intrinsically linked to his environment and character arc. For much of the film, he acts as the perfect instrument of Fifth Sector, demonstrating the brutal efficiency of God Eden's training. His primary drive seems to be demonstrating his superior power, as seen when he effortlessly overcomes Tsurugi's Death Drop with his own hissatsu technique, White Hurricane, to score the first goal. His role in the story is that of a primary antagonist and a formidable wall for Raimon to overcome. The climax of the film, however, pivots on changing his outlook. During the final battle between Raimon and Team Zero, Tsurugi reaches out to Hakuryuu, reminding him of a childhood memory when soccer was simply fun. This breakthrough is a key moment where Hakuryuu sheds the Fifth Sector's conditioning and begins playing "real soccer" with enthusiasm rather than calculated brutality, showing his capacity for change and making him a more sympathetic figure.

His key relationships are central to his development. The rivalry with Tsurugi is particularly significant, as they are presented as equals on opposite sides of the Fifth Sector conflict, with Tsurugi's memories eventually becoming the catalyst for Hakuryuu's redemption. Equally important is his bond with Shuu. As the two captains of Team Zero, they form a powerful duo, most notably when they fuse their keshin (avatars) into the legendary knight Sei Kishi Arthur to perform the devastating combination hissatsu, Sword Excalibur. This partnership showcases his ability to collaborate at the highest level, even as a newly reformed player.

Regarding notable abilities, Hakuryuu stands out as one of the most technically gifted forwards in the film. His primary solo hissatsu technique is White Hurricane, a powerful shooting move capable of not only scoring but also deflecting an opponent's shot and sending shockwaves across the entire field, blowing back multiple defenders and the goalkeeper in a single strike. He also possesses a powerful keshin (fighting spirit) named Shining Dragon, which he can summon to further amplify his offensive and defensive capabilities. The highest display of his power is the combined keshin with Shuu, Sei Kishi Arthur, which uses the technique Sword Excalibur.
