Description
Varte Parx, a mauve youth from the Special Zone, sports short blonde hair and red eyes. He initially wears the mauve uniform before transitioning to a school uniform. Outwardly kind, friendly, and approachable, he conceals a strategic, observant nature and readiness for violence. His father Lucian Parx dies in a riot after a rigged Battle Spirits match, igniting Varte's vengeful transformation. Convinced armed resistance ensures mauve acceptance, he establishes a covert resistance movement disguised as a Grand Rolo research club, operating from a hidden subterranean base. Allies include teacher Als Glynnhorn, Morgan Baxter, and Snow McClain.

Varte uncovers Graham Leonard's orchestration of Lucian's murder and confronts him with evidence of tax fraud and mauve oppression. Negotiations collapse, prompting Varte to attempt shooting Leonard, halted by Gallet Revolt. This leads to their arrest and status as wanted criminals. Varte and Gallet clash over opposing ideologies—revolutionary force versus non-violent change—culminating in a decisive card battle loss for Varte, cementing their split.

Rejecting Gabra Dow's professional card-player offer, Varte expands his movement. He engineers Zephyr Try's recruitment by freeing Zephyr's family from Unified Government captivity during a card duel. Zephyr later dies delivering a card to Varte's aerial fortress. Vizarga, successor to the Otherworld Records, identifies Varte as a Core Light Bearer and references prophecies of a "Purple King" leading the mauve, galvanizing Varte's resolve. He launches his revolution by broadcasting Graham's crimes globally and destroying a power plant as a demonstration.

When Gallet battles Vizarga, Varte manifests in a card dimension to defend his path, asserting that force is necessary for others to comprehend mauve suffering. He dismisses Gallet's appeals but later acknowledges Gallet's resolve when Gallet departs for Grand Rolo. In Battle Spirits, Varte employs evolving decks: an early Red/Blue build with spirits like The ExplosiveSupremeDragon Explode-Dragon and braves like Super-Flame Demon-God, later shifting to a Blue mill-focused deck with Red elements, featuring The TowerDeityMachineSoldier Solidus-Golem and nexuses like Domination Mirage.
