Description
Panda is a male giant panda and one of the central characters of the anime. He is a regular customer at the café, where his usual order is iced coffee and a generous serving of bamboo, a menu item that was added specifically for him. He lives at home with his mother in a large Chinese-style house next to the café, and he is still at a teenage stage of life. Aside from a part-time job at a nearby zoo, which he took after his mother insisted he stop idling at home, he has no steady career and spends most of his time doing very little.

His personality is defined by extreme laziness and a relaxed, easygoing outlook. He enjoys sleeping, snacking on bamboo, and generally lazing about, and he tends to avoid effort whenever possible. His speech and behavior are noticeably childish, and he says whatever comes to mind without much filtering, which often comes across as blunt or uncomfortably honest without him realizing it. He is also vain and self-centered, very aware of his own cuteness, and pleased by the attention he receives from visitors at the zoo. He has a strong attachment to panda-themed items and likes to point out his own popularity. He is clumsy and not especially quick-witted, but not without hidden capability, since a brief job at a luxury car dealership saw him rise to the position of CEO.

His motivations are simple and consistent. He acts according to whether something feels comfortable, fun, or easy, rather than out of ambition or a sense of duty. He wants a pleasant, low-effort life with plenty of bamboo, rest, and admiration. Because of this, he tends to quit jobs quickly and relies on others to handle complications, yet he is sociable and agreeable enough that people generally tolerate and even enjoy his company.

In the story, Panda serves as a passive center of the daily comedy. He rarely sets out to cause events deliberately, but his simple questions, whims, and misunderstandings often become the starting point of episodes, and his relaxed reactions help keep situations from becoming serious. He is part of the café's regular circle and functions as a kind of anchor for the gentle, humorous tone of everyday life around the café.

His key relationships are with the café owner and the other regulars. He regards the café owner as a friendly figure he can rely on and relax around, treating the establishment as a comfortable base. With Penguin, he has a close friendship marked by playful banter; Penguin frequently ends up dealing with Panda's naivety and laziness and seems to enjoy using those moments to share his own knowledge. He also interacts warmly with the human staff member, sharing everyday conversation as a customer. His relationship with his mother is central to his daily life; she nags him about his sloth, pushes him toward work and responsibility, and is the one who first sent him out to find a job, though she continues to care for him at home. A recurring gag involves her vacuuming him up while he lounges around, which he protests loudly. He also works alongside an older full-time panda at the zoo.

The series shows occasional glimpses of development through his short-lived attempts at change. He tries going on a diet, decides he needs to reconnect with his wild side, and sometimes throws himself into a job with sudden enthusiasm. These efforts rarely last, and he quickly returns to his usual habits, but they reveal that he is not entirely without ambition. His growth is gentle rather than dramatic, and his core personality remains steady throughout the story.

His notable abilities are tied to his popularity and his unexpected flashes of competence. His natural charm and cuteness make him a favorite with zoo visitors, which he openly enjoys and uses as a point of pride. His success at the car dealership shows that, when he is genuinely interested or motivated, he can perform far beyond his usual lazy appearance. Otherwise, his defining traits are his love of bamboo, his sleeping habits, and his ability to bring a relaxed, humorous atmosphere to every scene he appears in.
