Description
After Hiraku Machio dies of a serious illness in his previous life, a god grants him a second chance in a fantasy world of his choosing. Bestowed with an almighty farming tool and a new, healthy body, Hiraku carves out a peaceful existence deep within a dangerous forest. Over time, his solitary farmstead grows into the lively and diverse Great Tree Village, home to vampires, elves, beastmen, angels, and many other fantastical races.
As season two begins, the Great Tree Village faces a new period of rapid expansion as its population continues to swell. The tranquility of Hiraku’s daily routine of cultivating fields and raising livestock is disrupted by the arrival of numerous visitors and refugees. Among these new arrivals are minotaurs and centaurs who have been displaced from their homes, hinting at a wider conflict or war taking place in the world beyond the forest. While the village itself remains an island of calm, the growing number of residents brings new challenges, such as constructing adequate housing for the larger races like the adult minotaurs and centaurs. Other new groups, such as the nature-loving nyunyu daphne, prefer to live outdoors, requiring the village to adapt to different needs.
Hiraku remains a humble farmer at heart, but the settlement he founded has become something much larger, resembling a small kingdom he never intended to create. The season continues to focus on the laidback, slow-life fantasy elements of the series, highlighting the joys of community, cultivation, and shared meals. The narrative arcs involve accommodating the influx of new races, exploring the village’s relationship with the outside world, and dealing with the subtle complications that come with the settlement’s newfound prosperity and political weight. Returning characters include Hiraku’s close companions, the vampire Luu and the angel Tier, alongside a large ensemble cast of elves, dwarves, and powerful beast companions.
