Misaki Kuno
Description
Misaki Kuno is a Japanese actress and voice actress born in Tokyo on January 19, 1993. She is affiliated with the talent agency Office Osawa. Kuno began her entertainment career as a child stage actress, appearing in productions such as the musical The Wizard of Oz and the stage show Wandering starting in 1999. At the age of ten in 2003, she made her debut as a voice actress by providing the Japanese dub voice for the Korean film Phone. In her early years in the industry, she was primarily active in dubbing foreign films and series, a field she continues to work in alongside her animation roles. Her work in anime and video games began to increase significantly around 2010.
Kuno is widely recognized for her distinctively high-pitched and youthful vocal quality, which is often described as sounding like the "real voice of a young child" and possessing a "unique presence". This characteristic has led her to be frequently cast in roles involving young children, small creatures, or characters with a childlike demeanor. Among her most prominent and long-running anime roles is Hawk, the talking pig, in the franchise The Seven Deadly Sins, a role she has played across multiple television seasons and films since 2014. Another significant early role was Tama in the selector infected WIXOSS series, which began in 2014.
Her filmography throughout the 2010s and 2020s demonstrates extensive range within her vocal type. She has voiced characters with a wide spectrum of personalities, from the gentle and affectionate Momo Kawamoto in March Comes in Like a Lion to the deeply disturbed and tragic Shio Kōbe in Happy Sugar Life. In 2018, she starred as the titular character Hisone Amakasu in the original anime Dragon Pilot: Hisone and Masotan. She has also taken on roles in popular long-running franchises, such as Harumi Ayasato in Ace Attorney Season 2 and Serara in the Log Horizon series. In the action-oriented series Lycoris Recoil, she voiced the skilled hacker Kurumi, and in the sci-fi drama 86, she played the important role of Frederica Rosenfort. Her performance as Faputa in the second season of Made in Abyss, The Golden City of the Scorching Sun, was particularly notable for its emotional intensity. She has also been a consistent presence in the Strike the Blood franchise, voicing Lydiane Didieh across multiple installments.
Beyond anime television series, Kuno has an extensive career in video games, where her voice is highly recognizable. She is the voice of the popular explosive-obsessed character Klee in the globally successful game Genshin Impact. She also voices the artificial intelligence weapon Poppi in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and characters in major franchises such as Nagato in Azur Lane and Misaki in Princess Connect! Re:Dive. Her game roles also include Iris Wilson in The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures and Sophie in Persona 5 Strikers.
Her work in dubbing foreign media includes providing the Japanese voice for Charlie McGee in the 2022 film Firestarter and Mo Malto in the animated series Transformers: EarthSpark. She also voiced a role in the animated series Oni: Thunder God's Tale.
Throughout her career, Kuno has worked with numerous directors and fellow voice actors across many projects. She has had recurring collaborations with voice actors such as Rie Murakawa, Ayaka Ohashi, and Aya Yamane across various series. Directors she has frequently worked with include Masafumi Sato and Risako Yoshida. Her ongoing presence in the industry is marked by her ability to bring a wide array of animated and game characters to life with her unique and compelling vocal talents. In 2025, she was announced in a lead role for the upcoming anime Reincarnated as a Neglected Noble: Raising My Baby Brother With Memories From My Past Life.
