Description
Faputa is a significant character introduced in the sixth layer of the Abyss, known as the Princess of the Narehate and the Embodiment of Value. She is the last child born from Irumyuui, brought into existence through the wishes of the Cradles of Desire. Her birth was a culmination of sorrow and regret, as she carries within her all of Irumyuui's wrath and grief from being unable to protect her previous children.

In terms of appearance, Faputa has dark skin on her face, upper arms, and torso, contrasting with the fluffy white fur that covers her rabbit-like ears, forearms, legs, and lower body. She has long, feathery hair and five tails that fan out behind her. One of her most striking features is her four arms, each hand possessing three large red claws that act as fingers, with two additional folded fingers that have delicate talons functioning as sensory organs similar to a sense of smell. Her eyes are yellow with large rounded pupils, and she wears a pair of goggles given to her by Reg, which she carries slung over her shoulder.

Faputa's personality is complex, appearing initially unstable and wild, with a beast-like demeanor that reflects the regrets from which she was born. She speaks in a simplistic manner, often referring to herself in the third person, and has a distinctive way of ending her sentences. She is very possessive, particularly of Reg, whom she considers her property, and becomes jealous when he shows attention to others. Despite being beloved by the Narehate of Iruburu, Faputa is often irritated by them and feels a deep-seated fear and disgust toward the village inhabitants, whom she eventually sees as her duty to eradicate.

Her motivations are driven by the tragic circumstances of her birth and the suffering of her mother, Irumyuui, who became fused with the village itself after her children were consumed by the Narehate. Faputa's primary goal is to exact vengeance on the village and its inhabitants, liberating her mother's soul from her agonizing existence. She is unable to enter the village due to being imbued with the Cradles of Desire, while the villagers are conversely unable to leave, creating a unique stalemate. Her role in the story centers on the Iruburu arc, where she seeks to fulfill her destructive purpose with the help of Reg, who had promised to assist her before losing his memory.

Key relationships shape Faputa's existence. Her mother, Irumyuui, is the source of her being and her primary motivation for revenge. Gaburoon, an Interference Unit, became her guardian and caretaker after she fled the village as a newborn; she named them and grew close to them over many years. Reg is deeply significant to Faputa; they met before his memory loss, became friends, and exchanged promises. Reg gave Faputa his goggles, and she developed a profound attachment to him, considering him her first love. Initially, she harbors intense animosity toward Riko, blaming her for Reg's amnesia, but eventually reconciles and develops affection for her as they journey together.

Throughout her development, Faputa undergoes a significant transformation. She begins as an unreasoning agent of vengeance, consumed by her inherent purpose to destroy Iruburu. After breaching the village and fulfilling her mission, she is left physically and emotionally devastated, but is resurrected and restored through the literal devotion of the villagers who offer their value to her. This experience, along with the sacrifice of Gaburoon and her interactions with Riko's group, shifts her perspective. She realizes her existence is not limited to hatred and revenge, and chooses to walk her own path, eventually accepting Reg's invitation to join the team and embark on new adventures.

Faputa possesses extraordinary abilities befitting her nature as a special Narehate. She has superhuman strength, agility, and speed, surpassing even Reg in combat capability. Her claws are both deadly weapons and precise tools, and she can morph her body into an almost fluid form for various purposes. She has potent regenerative abilities, low-mid to possibly mid-level, allowing her to recover from severe damage, though this is limited and requires consuming organic matter after extensive injury. Faputa is immune to the curse of the Abyss, which typically causes death or mind-altering effects on the sixth layer. She can also hear the voices of souls, such as those trapped in Life Reverberating Stones, and has a highly developed sense of smell that allows her to identify individuals or detect emotions. After absorbing the value of Iruburu's inhabitants, her power increases significantly, causing her hair to grow longer with golden streaks and a diamond-shaped symbol to appear in her eyes.
