TV-Series
Description
Merun, also known as Mel, is a small golden-yellow fairy with a soft glow. She possesses long blonde hair featuring circular objects at the ends of its strands, white eyes, and pink cheek blushes, consistently depicted wearing a yellow one-piece dress and a pointed yellow hat.

Originally part of the Rattenfänger community as "The 131st Member," she was created as a living documentary to preserve the legacy of the 130 child spirits who perished in Hamelin from a natural disaster, tying her existence to the community's history and purpose as a spiritual entity intertwined with collective memory.

Merun exhibits a childlike personality marked by high curiosity, excitability, and skittishness. She struggles with complex sentences but engages in simple conversation, often mimicking the behavior of those around her. She forms attachments quickly, particularly to Kudou Asuka, and displays trust by sleeping on individuals she favors. Despite her timid nature, she demonstrates loyalty and friendliness, though her actions reflect the influence of her companions.

Her involvement begins during the "Rise of the Fire Dragon Festival," where Asuka discovers her. Initially fleeing upon eye contact, Merun is eventually befriended after accepting a cookie offering. During a subsequent attack in the gallery targeting false Rattenfänger affiliates, Asuka protects her until their rescue, solidifying their bond. Merun remains with Asuka, accompanying her to meetings and communal activities like bathing in hot springs.

Merun witnesses the Gift Game "UNDERWOOD MAZE" and endures chaotic events involving Black Geass Rolls and Shiroyasha's sealing. When powerful winds threaten them, Asuka shelters Merun within her clothing. Later, the 120 spirits of Rattenfänger rescue the pair, guiding them to an underground cave. There, the spirits explain their trust in Asuka to defeat Ratten with Dean's aid and erase the summoning object tying them to Little Garden.

Following the conflict, the spirits of the Hamelin children sacrifice themselves but leave Merun behind as a gift to Asuka, signifying gratitude. Merun formally joins the No Name community, serving as a living legacy of Rattenfänger's existence. Her integration includes contributing to practical efforts; after assessing No Name's barren farmland, she collaborates to create fertilizer from biodegradable materials, restoring arable soil and leveraging her earth manipulation abilities for communal benefit.

Merun possesses earth-based manipulation powers, notably restructuring soil into hazards like quicksand pits during battles. She also aids in ecological restoration, though the full scope of her abilities remains unspecified. She can fly but relies on stamina, requiring rest periods when exhausted. Her powers classify her as both a living being and a Gift. As a fairy, she typically travels in groups, reinforcing her social nature. Her ongoing activities focus on supporting No Name's agricultural recovery, reflecting her transition from a documentary entity to an active community member.
