Description
Miss Yuka, a 35-year-old anthropomorphic bird, presides as the sole innkeeper in Domina town. She firmly identifies herself as a canary, though persistent whispers hint she might be an evolved Chocobo. Addressing her correctly as "Miss Yuka" is emphasized as crucial. Her personality radiates a matronly, maternal warmth essential to her role, demanding meticulous care and tenderness towards guests. This protective instinct shines intensely in her guardianship of Pee-wee Birdie; she memorizes the precise ingredients vital for its care. Miss Yuka exhibits distinct sensitivity regarding her species, taking immediate offense at any Chocobo identification and forcefully reasserting her canary identity. For specific quests, she requests particular items for Pee-wee Birdie: a Flat Seed, Topple Cotton, Animal Hide, Baobab Wood, Menos Bronze, Citrisquid, Rotten Meat, and Sulfur. She becomes profoundly distressed if the creature is disturbed excessively, as fifteen interactions lead to its destruction. When questioned during Diddle's disappearance, she denies involvement citing her inability to fly and corrects Capella's misidentification of her as a chicken, reinforcing her canary claim. She later offers a vital clue, recalling Diddle purchased a stamp and suggesting Pelican may have transported him. Her central role within Domina involves supporting residents and travelers through her inn, contributing actively to local events and information sharing. She recurs throughout the broader Mana series, including a cameo in "Circle of Mana". Physical descriptions note her gray hair and teal eyes.
