He actively questions her suitability as Kai's partner and schemes to separate them.

Exploiting Yuzuru's financial reliance on the HONEY role for tuition exemption, Chihaya manipulates her by offering to become his HONEY instead. He promises respectful treatment and falsely claims Kai views her as a disposable toy. This offer coincides with his interference during a school basketball tournament, where he amplifies Yuzuru's insecurities and warns her about Kai's intentions.
