Itsuki Iba is the second president of the magical dispatch agency Astral, having inherited the position following the mysterious disappearance of his father, the company's founder. A young man of high school age, he is characterized by his boyish features, black hair, and gray eyes, but his most defining physical trait is the black eyepatch he always wears over his right eye.

Despite his formal role as a leader, Itsuki’s everyday personality is overwhelmingly timid and self-effacing. He is notably a coward who allows others, particularly the strong-willed magicians in his employ, to assert themselves at his expense, often enduring physical reprimands without complaint. This gentle and well-meaning nature, however, stands in stark contrast to the persona that emerges when his eyepatch is removed. Itsuki possesses a rare and powerful demonic eye known as Glam Sight, also called the fairy eye. This eye grants him the extraordinary ability to see the structure of magic, discern its weaknesses, control spell-waves, and even peer into the memories of the magic users who oppose him. Using this ability is extremely painful and dangerous for him, akin to magical radiation poisoning, and without formal training, it frequently leaves him physically weakened.

When Itsuki utilizes his Glam Sight, his entire personality shifts dramatically. He becomes confident, dominant, cold, and calculating—gaining the commanding presence and strategic mind of a true leader. Once the eyepatch is replaced, he reverts to his original, tender-hearted and cowardly self. This transformation is so pronounced that it functions almost as a split personality, with the exposed eye granting not only power but also the resolve to use it. Itsuki’s Glam Sight is unique and amplified compared to ordinary versions; it is often accompanied by a mysterious, inaudible voice that warns him of danger and provides arcane analysis he could not otherwise perform.

The origin of this altered eye lies in a traumatic childhood event. When he was young, Itsuki and his close friend Honami were chased by a red-eyed spirit, an infant dragon, inside a haunted building. To save Honami, Itsuki baited the creature away, but his exposure to the dragon’s true form tainted his demonic eye, transforming it into the Glam Sight. Following this incident, Itsuki lost many of his childhood memories, retaining only fragments such as Honami’s affectionate nickname for him, Iichan. His memories of the event were deliberately sealed, in part by a barrier erected by the founding members of Astral to contain the dragon.

In his role as president, Itsuki leads a diverse team of magic users, none of whom are easy to manage. His key relationship is with Honami Takase Ambler, a Celtic magic expert who is his childhood friend. Honami feels a deep sense of guilt over the dragon incident that changed his eye and serves as his unofficial tutor and protector, often hitting him out of jealousy or frustration but remaining fiercely loyal. He also has a complex rivalry with Adilisia Lenn Mathers, the head of the competing agency Goetia, who both antagonizes and respects him. Despite his lack of natural talent for magic, Itsuki trains in the martial art of Gogyouken under the tutelage of the Buddhist expert Sekiren, in an effort to become stronger and compensate for the physical toll his Glam Sight takes on him.

Throughout the narrative, Itsuki’s primary motivation is to fulfill his duties as the head of Astral, struggling to prove himself a competent leader despite his youth, inexperience, and inherent cowardice. His journey involves gradually uncovering the secrets of his past and his unique eye. As the story progresses, especially during the Dragon Incident arc, some of his sealed memories begin to return, allowing him to grow not just in power but in his understanding of himself and his obligations to the people who depend on him. While he relies on his subordinates for their magical expertise, his own development focuses on mastering his dangerous gift and the quiet courage required to lead.
