Souta Tawara, a web designer in his late twenties, returns to his hometown in Kagawa Prefecture, a region famous for its udon noodles, after the death of his father. One day, while visiting a local udon shop, he encounters a mysterious young boy with golden hair and a tail, who turns out to be a shape-shifting tanuki named Poko. Souta takes Poko in, and the two form an unlikely bond as they navigate life together.
