Yūichi Nakamura is a Japanese voice actor born on February 20, 1980, in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. He graduated from Yoyogi Animation Academy and is affiliated with the agency INTENTION, having moved there from Sigma Seven in October 2020.

Nakamura decided to pursue a career as a voice actor during his junior high school years, inspired by his admiration for the dubbing work of actor Tsutomu Isobe. After graduating from high school, he moved to Tokyo to attend Yoyogi Animation Academy. He made his voice acting debut in 2001, with one of his earliest roles being in the OVA D+VINE [LUV].

His career gained significant momentum after he was cast as Takaya Abe in the 2007 sports anime Big Windup! and as Tomoya Okazaki in the CLANNAD series. These roles led to increased recognition and a steady stream of major characters in subsequent years. In the early part of his career, he also worked extensively as a narrator, a skill for which he is known.

Nakamura has portrayed a wide array of characters across many popular series. His notable leading and major roles include Alto Saotome in Macross Frontier, Graham Aker in Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Gray Fullbuster in Fairy Tail, Kyōsuke Kōsaka in Oreimo, Houtarou Oreki in Hyouka, Umetarō Nozaki in Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun, Karamatsu Matsuno in Mr. Osomatsu, and Tetsurō Kuroo in Haikyu!!. He is also known for his roles as Tatsuya Shiba in The Irregular at Magic High School, Shigure Soma in Fruits Basket, Bruno Bucciarati in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, Hawks in My Hero Academia, Tsukasa Shishio in Dr. Stone, and Satoru Gojō in Jujutsu Kaisen. In addition to his animation work, he is the official Japanese voice actor for Chris Evans as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

Over the course of his career, Nakamura has received several accolades. He won the Most Outstanding Male Voice Actor award at the 2008 Nonko and Nobita's Anime Scramble event. He has been a recipient of the MVS (Most Valuable Seiyu) award at the 18th and 19th Seiyu Awards, held in 2024 and 2025 respectively, and also won the award for Best Supporting Voice Actor at the 16th Seiyu Awards. In 2024, he won the Best Japanese Voice Actor award at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

He maintains a well-known friendship with fellow voice actor Tomokazu Sugita. His nickname, Yūkyan, was given to him by voice actor Kenichi Suzumura. Nakamura has a wide range of personal interests, including video games, which he plays extensively, and he is also a fan of the Gundam franchise.
