Bruno Bucciarati was born September 27, 1980, near Naples, to a fisherman. At seven, during his parents' divorce, he chose to live with his father, believing his mother would adapt to city life while his father would age alone. When Bucciarati was twelve, gangsters posing as fishermen shot his father. As his father recovered in the hospital, Bucciarati hid under the bed and killed the gangsters when they returned to finish the job. Fearing retaliation, he joined the Neapolitan gang Passione. His father later died from surgery complications, which Bucciarati suspected were orchestrated by the gang. Rising within Passione to lieutenant, Bucciarati led his own squad, recruiting members during their lowest points: Pannacotta Fugo, recognizing his intellect despite homelessness; disgraced former policeman Leone Abbacchio; Narancia Ghirga, whom he fed, paid for eye surgery, and urged towards education; and Guido Mista, whom he freed from prison. Bucciarati initially upheld Passione's operations but grew conflicted over the gang's drug trafficking, clashing with his hatred of drugs stemming from his father's suffering. Meeting Giorno Giovanna accelerated his development. Tasked with investigating Leaky-Eye Luca's death, Bucciarati interrogated the responsible Giorno. During their fight, Bucciarati hid inside a drug-addicted teenager's body; Giorno spared him upon recognizing Bucciarati's discomfort with this act, revealing his underlying morality. Bucciarati allied with Giorno to infiltrate and reform Passione, maintaining a ruthless facade when necessary, such as torturing enemies or using civilians as decoys. His loyalty to Passione shattered when the boss, Diavolo, ordered him to kill the boss's daughter, Trish Una. Bucciarati openly rebelled, rescuing Trish and leading his team against Diavolo. Confronted on San Giorgio Maggiore island, Diavolo fatally impaled Bucciarati through the chest. Giorno's Stand, Gold Experience, temporarily revived him, placing him in a state between life and death. In this undead condition, his senses deteriorated; he perceived souls instead of physical forms, leading him to briefly mistake Diavolo's subordinate Doppio for Trish. Despite physical decay, he retained his resolve and leadership. Protecting Trish and fighting Diavolo, Bucciarati demonstrated tactical brilliance. He defeated assassins like Prosciutto by exploiting environmental tactics, such as using ice to slow his aging Stand ability, and outmaneuvered Pesci by feigning vulnerability. His Stand, Sticky Fingers, created zippers on any surface for offense, defense, or mobility, disassembling objects or traversing terrain. In the final conflict, Bucciarati played a pivotal role against Chariot Requiem, an autonomous Stand born from Silver Chariot pierced by the Arrow artifact. Recognizing its power to swap souls and mutate lifeforms globally, Bucciarati deduced its weakness: it manifested through a psychic light source behind each person, projecting their soul's shadow. Sacrificing himself, he destroyed this light source, reverting the soul swap and allowing Giorno to secure the Arrow. Bucciarati succumbed to his injuries shortly after, his body ceasing function once his resolve was fulfilled. In the spin-off one-shot *Jolyne, Fly High with GUCCI*, Bucciarati appeared in alternate attire—a blue jacket with a dotted shirt, gray trousers, and brown shoes—though his role was minimal. His leadership legacy endured through his team's loyalty and Giorno's eventual restructuring of Passione.
