Description
Kōtarō Satomi is the protagonist of Invaders of the Rokujyōma!?. He begins living on his own when he enters high school after his father is relocated for work. To save money, he rents Room 106 of Corona House for only five thousand yen a month, a price so low because the room is rumored to be haunted. In middle school, he played baseball, but he joins the Knitting Society in high school to accommodate his part-time job. He has a lean, athletic build with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Kōtarō is kind-hearted and considerate toward others, though he rarely relies on others himself, a trait shaped by the loss of his mother in an accident during his childhood. He is slow to pick up on romantic cues and is emotionally dense, often failing to recognize the feelings that the girls around him develop for him. This tendency leads to frequent misunderstandings and physical reprimands from the other residents. His friend Kenji describes him as the type who attracts women without being aware of it. Despite his obliviousness in romance, he has sharp instincts in combat situations and can react quickly under pressure. He is also known for having very poor sleeping habits; once he falls asleep, he is extremely difficult to wake.

His primary motivation at the start of the story is simply to live a quiet, affordable life while managing school and work. However, his plans are disrupted when multiple girls from different worlds invade his room, each claiming it for their own purposes. These invaders include Sanae Higashihongan, a ghost; Yurika Nijino, a self-proclaimed magical girl; Kiriha Kurano, a descendant of an underground civilization; and Theiamillis Gre Fortorthe, an alien princess. Rather than forcing them out, Kōtarō gradually becomes the central figure who holds this unlikely group together. He mediates their conflicts, helps them with their personal struggles, and eventually becomes a trusted ally and friend to each of them.

Throughout the series, Kōtarō’s role expands far beyond that of a simple tenant. He becomes known as the Blue Knight, a legendary figure from the history of the Fortorthe empire. It is revealed that he has traveled through time and space, having appeared in the past as the legendary knight who protected Princess Alaia. He also appears in Kiriha’s childhood as the mysterious older brother figure who gave her a keepsake. These connections tie him to the deeper mythos of the story and give him a central role in resolving conflicts that span centuries and galaxies.

Kōtarō’s key relationships define much of the story. He shares a close but often combative bond with Theiamillis, whom he nicknames Tulip. She eventually knights him as her Blue Knight and entrusts him with the sword Signaltin. With Kiriha, he shares a history that predates their meeting at Corona House, and she becomes one of his most perceptive and supportive companions. He develops a romantic interest in Harumi Sakuraba, the gentle president of the Knitting Society, though his feelings progress slowly. He also forms a strong bond with the other invaders, including Yurika and Sanae, and earns the loyalty of residents like Ruthkhania and the landlady Shizuka Kasagi. He later establishes the Satomi Knights, a group of allies who fight alongside him.

In terms of development, Kōtarō grows from a financially struggling high school student into a capable leader and protector. He learns to accept help from others and becomes more open about his own emotions. His journey involves not only defending his room but also traveling through time and space to protect those he cares about. He faces threats from radical factions of the underground people, enemy magical girls, and political conspiracies within the Fortorthe empire.

Kōtarō’s notable abilities include his combat instinct and physical resilience, honed through repeated battles. He wields the Blue Knight armor and the sword Signaltin, both of which grant him enhanced strength and defensive capabilities. He also commands a dragon mark that allows him to summon the fire dragon king Alunaya. Despite these powers, his greatest strength lies in his ability to earn the trust and cooperation of others, uniting people from different worlds under a common cause.
