Description
Kūgen Tenko, a pivotal fox deity and metal-aligned yōkai, once guarded the Mizuchi lineage before being sealed by Water Priest Miyako Takagami following destructive outbursts. Centuries later, Noboru Takagami ruptured this imprisonment, enlisting the deity to shield his brother Tōru from spectral dangers.

Shapeshifting fluidly between male and female human forms, Kūgen perpetually sports vulpine ears alongside striking blonde hair and azure eyes that captivate regardless of guise. Their use of the masculine pronoun "ore" hints at a forgotten gender identity eroded by time.

A seasoned tactician, Kūgen wields dominion over metal and fire, occasionally harnessing water when accessible. Their centuries-honed combat instincts allow cunning reversals of dire odds, amplified by the relic Sakasaen, which twists elemental advantages mid-conflict.

Driven by voracious curiosity cultivated during long confinement, Kūgen immerses in mortal life—attending schools, laboring at jobs, and marveling at modern innovations with oscillating awe and confusion. Culinary cravings frequently dictate choices, spurring employment pursuits for sustenance.

As Tōru’s fervent protector against Yin-energy-hungry entities, Kūgen balances grudging respect for Miyako with lingering friction from their shared past. Encounters with deities like Ebisu expose hierarchical tensions, as the commerce god’s domain-bound authority eclipses theirs.

Adapting ancient cunning to contemporary rhythms, Kūgen melds mischievous whimsy with unyielding loyalty to the Takagami line, deploying both razor-sharp strategy and playful antics to thwart threats.
