Dahlia succeeded Gloxinia as the second Fairy King approximately 3,000 years ago after Gloxinia joined the Demon Clan. Gerheade assisted his reign, and Meliodas knew him from that era. Unlike Gloxinia, Dahlia had no interest in the Holy War and refused to join the Stigma alliance. He later vanished without explanation, leading to Harlequin becoming king.
Dahlia possesses an athletic, masculine physique uncommon among fairies, with exposed abs and orange hair. His most distinctive feature is large, rainbow-colored butterfly-like wings similar to Gloxinia's. He typically wears a green suit complementing his wings.
Historically aloof and disengaged, Dahlia's personality changed drastically after receiving the Supreme Deity's Breath of Bless. Under its influence, he became fanatically devoted to restarting the Holy War and punishing those who ended it, including the Seven Deadly Sins. He showed no remorse brainwashing fairies and giants into attacking allies, took pleasure in tormenting demons, and aspired to rule them. While arrogant about his physical prowess, he readily conceded Harlequin's superior magical power when confronted by Zeldris.
In "Cursed by Light," Dahlia and the giant craftsman Dubs attacked the Demon Realm during the Demon King's absence. They massacred demons, dispersed the realm's dark miasma, and established control under the Supreme Deity's orders. Dahlia overpowered Zeldris through brute force after acknowledging magical inferiority. However, during a rematch where Meliodas and Zeldris swapped opponents, Meliodas decisively defeated him. The Breath of Bless's effects faded after his defeat, freeing him from brainwashing. He later attended Meliodas and Elizabeth's wedding.
