Description
A new semester begins at the mysterious school that brings together characters from various parallel worlds, reuniting the familiar faces from Overlord, KonoSuba, Re:Zero, The Saga of Tanya the Evil, and The Rising of the Shield Hero. However, the anticipated return to peaceful school days is disrupted when transfer students arrive in both classes. Class 2 welcomes Otto and Garfiel from Re:Zero, while more enigmatic newcomers appear in Class 1. The most significant addition is Cid Kagenou, also known as Shadow, the leader of the secret organization Shadow Garden from The Eminence in Shadow, who arrives alongside his devoted follower Alpha.

The school, a chibi-style alternate dimension where powerful abilities are confined by the rules of student life, becomes the stage for even greater chaos. While most of the cast attempts to navigate mundane activities like flower cultivation, cooking classes, and a music festival, Cid operates on a different level. Embracing his self-proclaimed role as an eminence in shadow, he initially remains in the background, sleeping on the school roof and observing his new classmates. His presence does not go entirely unnoticed; Ainz picks up on his energy, while Kazuma grows suspicious of the unassuming background character.

The dynamics shift dramatically when Cid makes a grand entrance as Shadow, hijacking Megumin’s daily explosion and transforming it into a spectacular fireworks display while uttering his iconic phrase, I am atomic. This act immediately establishes him as a wild card. His chuunibyou personality and obsession with theatrics both confuse and intrigue the other characters. Ainz, recognizing a kindred spirit in darkness, engages with Shadow, while Tanya begins investigating the mysterious figure. Kazuma proves surprisingly perceptive, correctly deducing that beneath the cool facade lies an individual deeply committed to his own elaborate fantasy.

As the semester progresses, the narrative weaves through a series of comedic incidents and character-driven arcs. The students participate in a sumo tournament where Garfiel makes a name for himself. A cooking class goes horribly wrong when Wiz supplies living zombie pasta that attacks the students. The hero Motoyasu from The Rising of the Shield Hero arrives and causes friction with his peculiar obsession, viewing most female students as pigs while seeing those with ahoge as filolials. An MMORPG addiction sweeps through the school, revealing hidden facets of characters like Ainz, who finally finds someone to discuss YGGDRASIL with, and the soldiers from Tanya's world who are completely unprepared for the allure of video games. A school trip to the mountains and a final battle requiring all students to unite against a common enemy bring the semester to a close. Throughout these events, Cid continues to pursue his own secret agenda, forming connections with Ainz and others while remaining convinced that no one has discovered his true identity as a mere background character.
