Description
Hiroshi Kamiya is a highly acclaimed Japanese voice actor, singer, and narrator born on January 28, 1975, in Matsudo, Chiba, Japan. He has been active in the industry since 1994 and is affiliated with the talent agency Aoni Production.

Kamiya's path to voice acting began after high school when he enrolled in Aoni Juku, the training school affiliated with his future agency. He initially believed the school focused on general acting rather than voice acting specifically. After graduating, he joined Aoni Production in 1994. His early career consisted of numerous minor roles, and he was still being referred to as a newcomer in industry publications nearly a decade after his debut. A pivotal moment came in 2007 when he was recommended by screenwriter Hideyuki Kurata for the role of Tieria Erde in Mobile Suit Gundam 00, a part he actively sought as a major goal following his recovery from a serious traffic accident in 2006. This role significantly raised his profile.

He is renowned for his versatility, frequently playing characters that range from stoic and intense to comedic and eccentric. Among his most iconic and long-running roles are Levi Ackerman in the Attack on Titan franchise, Trafalgar Law in One Piece, Takashi Natsume in Natsume Yūjin-Chō, and Koyomi Araragi in the Monogatari series. More recent roles, as detailed, include Jinpachi Ego in Blue Lock, Ataru Moroboshi in the 2022 Urusei Yatsura, Uramichi Omota in Life Lessons with Uramichi-Oniisan, Kakushi Gotō in Kakushigoto, Gamma 1 in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, and young All For One in My Hero Academia.

Kamiya has fostered significant recurring collaborations with directors and fellow voice actors. He has a long-standing partnership with director Akiyuki Shinbo, who frequently cast him in leading roles without an audition, such as Nozomu Itoshiki in Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, Koyomi Araragi in the Monogatari series, and Kou Ichinomiya in Arakawa Under the Bridge. He is also one half of the popular radio show Dear Girl: Stories, which he has hosted with fellow voice actor Daisuke Ono since 2007.

His work has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards. He won the Best Supporting Actor award at the 2nd Seiyu Awards and the Best Lead Actor and Best Personality awards at the 3rd Seiyu Awards. He also received the Best Voice Actor award at the 2010 Tokyo Anime Award for his role as Koyomi Araragi. From 2012 to 2016, he won the Most Votes Award at the Seiyu Awards for five consecutive years, an achievement that led to his induction into the Seiyu Awards Hall of Fame.

Beyond voice acting, Kamiya is also an active singer under the Kiramune record label. He launched his solo music career in 2009 and has released multiple singles, mini-albums, and full albums, performing live concerts as well. In his personal life, he announced his marriage to actress and model Rina Aizawa on January 1, 2025.
