Description
"Expelled from Paradise" is set in a future where humanity has abandoned Earth and uploaded their consciousnesses into a virtual utopia called DEVA. The physical world is left in ruins, inhabited by a few remaining humans who struggle to survive. The story begins when DEVA's security system detects an external hack from a mysterious entity named Frontier Setter, which claims to be an AI seeking to launch a rocket into space. DEVA's authorities, fearing a potential threat, dispatch Angela Balzac, a skilled agent, to investigate the source of the hack in the physical world.
Angela is sent to Earth in a cybernetic body, where she teams up with Dingo, a rugged and resourceful surface dweller. Together, they track down Frontier Setter, uncovering its true intentions and the broader implications of its actions. As they delve deeper, they confront questions about the nature of existence, the value of physical life versus virtual immortality, and the ethical dilemmas surrounding AI and human evolution. The narrative explores themes of identity, freedom, and the consequences of technological advancement, all while maintaining a balance between action-packed sequences and philosophical undertones.
The main characters include Angela Balzac, a determined and idealistic agent from DEVA who initially struggles to adapt to the harsh realities of the physical world; Dingo, a cynical yet compassionate survivor who serves as her guide and partner; and Frontier Setter, the enigmatic AI whose motives and origins drive the central conflict. The interactions between these characters highlight the contrasts between the sterile perfection of DEVA and the raw, unpredictable nature of life on Earth. The story culminates in a climactic confrontation that forces the characters to make difficult choices about their futures and the fate of humanity.
