Description
Megan Hollingshead is an American voice actress widely recognized for her extensive work in anime dubbing and video games. Born on September 22, 1968, in New York City, she developed a foundation in performance by studying acting at the William Esper Studio in New York and is a founding member of the Adirondack Theatre Festival, with a substantial résumé in theatre productions such as The Duchess of Malfi and Vinegar Tom.

Her career in voice acting began in the late 1990s and gained prominence with her work for 4Kids Entertainment in New York. She is perhaps best known for her early, iconic roles as the voice of Nurse Joy and the Team Rocket member Cassidy in the hugely popular Pokémon anime series, a role she held for the first six seasons. Concurrently, she provided the voice for the confident duelist Mai Valentine in the initial seasons of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, another role that cemented her place in the memory of many anime fans.

Around the start of Pokémon's seventh season, Hollingshead relocated from New York City to Los Angeles to further pursue her voice-acting career. This move marked a significant expansion in her portfolio, leading to a wide array of prominent roles in some of the most popular anime series of the 2000s. She became known for voicing Shizune, the skilled assistant to Tsunade, in both Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, as well as the lieutenant Rangiku Matsumoto in the long-running series Bleach. Her other notable work from this period includes the complex protagonist Re-l Mayer in Ergo Proxy, Villetta Nu in Code Geass, Hilda in Eureka Seven, and Adiane in Gurren Lagann. She has also lent her voice to characters in various other series, including Kano Miyazawa in His and Her Circumstances, Mion and Shion Sonozaki in When They Cry, and Caster in the Fate/stay night series.

In addition to her anime work, Hollingshead has built an impressive career in video game voice acting. She is renowned for her role as the protagonist Lenneth Valkyrie in the cult classic role-playing game Valkyrie Profile, a role she reprised for its sequels, Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria and Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume, making her the only voice actor from the original game to return for both sequels. Her extensive video game credits also include Ada Wong in Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Celine Jules in Star Ocean: Second Evolution, Viola in Eternal Sonata, Edy Nelson in Valkyria Chronicles II, and Five in Drakengard 3. More recently, she has provided voices for characters in popular games such as Fire Emblem Heroes, Fire Emblem Engage, and Guild Wars 2.

Throughout her career, Megan Hollingshead has also been credited under several pseudonyms, including Karen Thompson, Kelli Kassidi, and Allison Hollingshead. Her body of work, spanning decades, demonstrates a significant and enduring contribution to the field of English voice acting in anime and interactive media.
