TV-Series
Description
Noriko Ukai is a supporting character who was originally the keyboard player for the influential band Nittle Grasper. She is the youngest member of that group. At the request of Tohma Seguchi, she temporarily joins the band Bad Luck, providing keyboard support while her own band is on hiatus. When Nittle Grasper later reunites, she leaves Bad Luck permanently to resume her place.
She is known for being rude, loud, and highly talented. She refuses to tolerate substandard effort from her bandmates and demands the best from everyone around her. Despite her abrasive exterior, she cares deeply about the people she works with and often acts as an older sister figure toward Ryuichi Sakuma, teasing him in a friendly manner and looking out for his well-being. She can be hyper and energetic, but she is also sharp-tongued and gets things done efficiently.
Her primary motivation is professional excellence and the success of the bands she is part of. She is determined and goal-oriented, and she respects strong work ethic in others. Within the story, her role is to support the main bands musically and to provide a steady, no‑nonsense presence. She also serves as a connection between Nittle Grasper and Bad Luck during the period when she plays with the latter.
Her key relationships are with her Nittle Grasper bandmates, especially Ryuichi Sakuma, whom she treats like a younger brother, and Tohma Seguchi, who arranges her temporary transfer. Toward Shuichi Shindo and the other members of Bad Luck, she is professional and demanding, but she respects their talent.
Over the course of the series, Noriko shows some personal development: by the time of the second original video animation, she has married and is shown with a child, indicating a move into family life alongside her musical career. She is 28 years old and was born on August 5. She has medium‑length purple hair and purple eyes. Her notable ability is her keyboard playing, which is skilled enough to be a vital part of two major bands.
