Doug Erholtz is an American voice actor recognized for his extensive work in English dubs of anime series, films, and video games. Born on February 21, 1971, in Sterling Heights, Michigan, he developed an interest in performance early on. He graduated from Michigan State University with a double major in Advertising and Theatre, after which he moved to Chicago for an advertising internship before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue acting. His entry into voiceover work came while working as an executive assistant in the music department at Saban Entertainment, where he landed his first role singing for a project in 1995. He officially began his voice acting career in 1998.

Erholtz's career is marked by a wide range of prominent and recurring roles in some of the most popular anime franchises. He is perhaps best known for portraying Inspector Koichi Zenigata across numerous installments of the Lupin the Third series, including Part IV, Part V, Part 6, and several films like Lupin III: The First and Lupin III: Goodbye Partner. Another signature role is the flamboyant French swordsman Jean Pierre Polnareff in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind. He also voiced the character in a unique capacity as a turtle in the Golden Wind arc. In the long-running Naruto series, he is the voice of the beloved mentor Asuma Sarutobi and later took over the role of Kankuro. His work in the Bleach anime includes voicing the cunning antagonist Gin Ichimaru and later assuming the role of Kisuke Urahara.

Beyond these hallmark roles, Erholtz has contributed to a vast array of other titles, demonstrating his versatility. His filmography includes the role of Kasugai Crow in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Berko in Drifting Dragons, Issa Matsumoto in March Comes in Like a Lion, Chōta in Dorohedoro, and Daigo Nishijima in Digimon Adventure tri.. He has also voiced characters in Gundam Build Divers and its sequel Re:RISE as Magee, Max Sandshelt in Durarara!!, and various roles in the Forest of Piano.

His voice is also ubiquitous in the world of video game localization. He is most famously the English voice of Squall Leonhart from Final Fantasy VIII in numerous crossover titles such as the Dissidia Final Fantasy series and Kingdom Hearts II. Other notable video game roles include Hazama and Yuuki Terumi in the BlazBlue series, Vega in the Street Fighter series, and Acheron in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Throughout his career, Erholtz has been a frequent collaborator with major dubbing studios like NYAV Post and Bang Zoom! Entertainment, working alongside many of the industry's most active voice actors. His body of work reflects a sustained and significant contribution to English-language anime and animation.
