Tim Knauer is a German actor and voice actor based in Berlin. Born in Hamburg on November 9, 1981, he began his career in voice performance during his school years, working on radio plays and dubbing projects. His early experience included roles in popular German audio series such as TKKG and Fünf Freunde. After completing his Abitur, he received speech training from Marianne Bernhardt, a professor at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre. Alongside his artistic career, Knauer pursued academic studies and graduated as a business graduate from the University of Hamburg in 2008.

Knauer has built an extensive career lending his voice to numerous characters in anime and animated series for the German market. In the anime sphere, he is known for a wide range of roles. He voiced Rin Matsuoka in Free! -Dive to the Future-, Hideomi Iba in Sirius the Jaeger, Clark Ibrahim in Great Pretender, and Bill in the second season of BEASTARS. His repertoire also includes Tetsurou Kuroo in Haikyu!! LAND VS. AIR, Neji Hyuuga in Naruto Shippūden, and Bertolt Hoover in the Attack on Titan franchise. Other notable anime credits include roles in Dr. Stone, Fire Force, Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, Edens Zero, and the film Expelled from Paradise.

Beyond animation, his voice is widely recognized from German dubs of live-action films and series. He has provided the German voice for actors such as Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock in Marvel's Daredevil and Spider-Man: No Way Home, Chris Pratt as Andy Dwyer in Parks and Recreation, and Zach Roerig as Matt Donovan in The Vampire Diaries. His film work includes voicing the dwarf Fili in The Hobbit film trilogy and Cillian Murphy in Tron: Legacy. In addition to dubbing, Knauer has worked as an on-screen actor, with a recurring role as Tom in the ZDF series Hallo Robbie! for eight years and as Roberto Buchstab in the long-running series Lindenstraße.
