Description
Noritoshi Kamo is a third-year student at Kyoto Jujutsu High and a former heir to the Kamo Clan, one of the three great jujutsu families. He was born as the illegitimate child of the clan head, and his path to becoming the heir was not guaranteed by birthright but earned through his exceptional talent for the clan's inherited cursed technique, Blood Manipulation. This circumstance of his birth deeply shaped his personality and motivations. He is a tall young man with straight black hair and grey eyes that he usually keeps closed. Initially, he wore his hair in a longer, traditional style befitting his status as heir, along with the Kyoto Jujutsu High uniform. His demeanor is generally stoic, composed, and disciplined, reflecting the heavy expectations placed on him. He carries himself with a quiet intensity.

His primary motivation is to prove his worth and validate the sacrifices made by his mother, for whom he holds deep affection. This desire drives him to embrace his family's legacy and traditions with unwavering dedication, in contrast to other heirs like Maki Zenin who reject their families. He feels a powerful sense of duty to the Kamo Clan and initially believes that upholding its traditions and gaining influence is the path to securing a future for himself and his mother. This personal conviction is intertwined with his family obligations, making his commitment feel genuine rather than simply forced.

In the story, Noritoshi first appears during the Kyoto Goodwill Event, where he serves as the leader of the Kyoto student team. He demonstrates his strategic thinking and combat prowess, engaging in a direct confrontation with Megumi Fushiguro and later coordinating with both Kyoto and Tokyo students to fight the special-grade cursed spirit Hanami. He later participates in the Shibuya Incident, where his abilities are used in the larger battle against the disaster curses. A significant turning point occurs during the Culling Game arc, following his exile from the Kamo Clan. This event strips him of his status and severs his connection to the clan, leading to a major shift in his character. He cuts his hair short, physically marking his separation from family traditions, and his stoic demeanor softens into genuine pain and uncertainty.

His key relationships reflect his development. With Aoi Todo, a fellow Kyoto student, he maintains a professional respect rooted in mutual recognition of strength, despite their contrasting personalities. His relationship with Maki Zenin deepens over the course of the story. After his exile, Maki becomes a key figure who encourages him to confront his past and reach out to his mother again. His connection with Yuji Itadori is also notable; a sincere conversation with Yuji helps him see that they are driven by similar desires to help others for the sake of loved ones, which influences his decision to allow himself to be eliminated during a baseball game.

As a semi-grade 1 sorcerer, Noritoshi's primary ability is the inherited Blood Manipulation technique of the Kamo Clan. He has developed this into a versatile and innovative fighting style. He is also a highly skilled archer, frequently combining his archery with his cursed technique by coating arrows in his blood, which allows him to guide their trajectory after release. His Blood Manipulation has several applications: Flowing Red Scale raises his body temperature, heart rate, and red blood cell count, providing a physical enhancement similar to doping; Crimson Binding spreads blood into a web to restrain opponents; Slicing Exorcism spins blood into a cutting blade; Convergence compresses blood into a dense form for later use; and Piercing Blood launches a high-speed, piercing projectile from a condensed sphere of blood. He is a tactical leader with keen analytical skills, able to coordinate team maneuvers while maintaining offensive pressure. However, his technique is limited by his available blood supply, making him vulnerable in prolonged fights or if significant blood is lost. He compensates for this by carrying specialized blood storage and preservation tools. Overall, Noritoshi is a character whose identity is tied to legacy and duty, and whose journey sees him evolve from a rigid clan heir into a more authentic individual seeking his own place in the world.
