Description
Michelangelo is a shy, bookish young male cat living in Hate City on Planet Q. His life changes when Tamala's spaceship crashes nearby, leading to a romance despite his greater maturity and refinement contrasting with her impulsiveness. His full name, Michelangelo Nominos, connects him to Professor Nominos, an elderly scholar from the future researching the history of CATTY & Co. and its ties to the ancient Minerva cult. This connection implies they are the same individual across time.
As Professor Nominos, he uncovers a conspiracy involving Tamala's role as a recurring sacrifice for the Minerva cult and CATTY & Co.'s ambitions. After presenting his findings in 2032 Shanghai, he is attacked and presumed killed, only to reappear undead. He travels back to confront his younger self in Hate City, revealing Tamala's identity as a reincarnation of the goddess Minerva and the cyclical nature of her sacrifices.
During Tamala's stay in Hate City, Michelangelo accompanies her on outings, including a visit to an extinct animal museum where she discovers a mural depicting cat sacrificial rituals and a damaged statue of the robotic cat Tatla. He witnesses Tamala's murder by the dog Kentauros but fails to intervene, hiding nearby. Later, he observes her resurrection under a park bench before she departs for Orion without him.
