Description
Jin Ryu stands as a crucial member of Team Estrella and Sho Tenma's closest friend. Known as "The Fearsome White Dragon," he competes in BeyWheelz battles with his balance-type BeyWheel, Doom Fire Drago, prized for its strength, control, and speed – though slightly slower than Sho's Pegasus. This BeyWheel enables high-level synchronization and unleashes powerful attacks.
Physically, Jin possesses spiky dark blue hair framing his forehead and resembling sideburns near his ears, pale skin, gold eyes, thin black eyebrows, and a distinctive red mark on his left cheek. His signature attire includes a light-blue scarf, a white cloak with black lines, a dark green belt, a grey undershirt, fingerless gloves, black pants, tall dark-green boots, and blue studded earrings.
Jin exhibits a consistently calm, collected, and level-headed personality, rarely overreacting during battles or social interactions. He functions as his team's voice of reason, demonstrating strong sportsmanship and dedication to self-improvement. His journey begins at the BeyWheelz World Championships, where he defeats teammate Leon in the semifinals but loses to Sho in the finals. Later, Team Estrella confronts the Dominators, a group harassing local wheelers. Jin partners with Sho in a tag-team match against Dominators Odin and Glen; the match ends in disqualification when Jin touches his BeyWheel to prevent it falling from a collapsing stadium.
As the conflict intensifies, the Dominators challenge Team Estrella to a formal five-match tournament. Jin and Sho recruit Nicole Spears and Marche Ovis after initially dismissing their abilities during the BeyWheelz Grand Prix but later recognizing their skill post-battle. During the "Judgement Bey" tournament, Jin volunteers to face Glen in a fire-based stadium heavily favoring Glen's BeyWheel. Despite sustaining severe burns and injuries, Jin neutralizes the environmental disadvantage and defeats Glen using his newly developed special move, Raging Whirlwind Slash – harnessing lightning to overpower his opponent. This victory ties the tournament score, highlighting his commitment.
His journey continues in the subsequent series, summoned as one of six BeyWarriors tasked with reviving dormant mythic beasts through BeyRaiderz battles. He retains his composed nature while demonstrating new abilities like breaking through solid rock. His interactions include mentoring Atsushi about inner strength and protecting a lost girl named Holly in a forest, showcasing protective and instructive traits beyond competition.
In battle, Jin employs strategic special moves:
- Dragon Destruction Thunderous Slash: Commands Doom Fire Drago to spin defensively before striking with a dragon spirit encased in a light-blue aura.
- Raging Whirlwind Slash: Directs Drago to summon a lightning storm and execute a high-speed slash capable of penetrating defenses.
These techniques reflect his analytical combat approach and adaptability under pressure.
