Austin Di Iulio
Description
Austin Di Iulio is a Canadian actor and voice actor born in 1989 in Mississauga, Ontario. His career in entertainment began in his childhood, with early on-screen appearances in television series such as Brimstone and La Femme Nikita in the late 1990s. He also appeared as a dancer in the 2007 film adaptation of the musical Hairspray.
Di Iulio is primarily known for his extensive work in voice acting for animated series. One of his earliest and most notable voice roles was as the title character in the anime series Pecola. He has also provided voices for numerous other animated shows, including Timothy in Timothy Goes to School, Spinner in Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends, Pablo in Braceface, and Macky in Friends and Heroes. He took over the role of Slider in the long-running educational series Cyberchase starting with its tenth season. In the series Redakai: Conquer the Kairu, he voiced the character Ky Stax.
He is perhaps best recognized within the anime community for his role as Jin Ryu in the Beyblade spin-off series. He first voiced the character in BeyWheelz: Powered by Beyblade, which aired in 2012. Jin Ryu is portrayed as the calm, serious, and level-headed best friend of the protagonist and a founding member of Team Estrella. Di Iulio reprised this role for the sequel series, BeyWarriors: BeyRaiderz, in 2013.
A notable achievement outside of acting was his participation as a contestant on the second season of the Canadian television dance competition So You Think You Can Dance Canada. As a contemporary dancer, he advanced to the Top 10 before his elimination in the sixth week of the competition. Information about formal recurring collaborations with specific directors or studios is not prominently documented, though his work on multiple Nelvana-animated productions, such as the Beyblade spin-offs and BeyWheelz, indicates a sustained professional relationship with that animation studio.
