Description
Veteran Gunpla Builder Koji Matsumoto debuts by challenging protagonist Haru Irei to a duel, wagering Haru’s Beginning Gundam as the prize. A member of the SGOCK idol group, he displays a carefree attitude and is frequently accompanied by two female followers. Koji depends entirely on his butler for Gunpla construction, customization, and painting, avoiding personal involvement in the work.
During their first battle, Koji pilots a customized RX-93-ν2 Hi-ν Gundam against Haru’s Beginning Gundam. His mobile suit trips mid-combat, trapping it in a ruined outdoor concert stage. Attempting funnel deployment fractures the Hi-ν’s left thigh, exposing a broken polycap. This structural flaw, amplified by Haru’s critique of Koji’s reliance on his butler, leads to defeat. Undeterred, Koji vows to build his next Gunpla independently.
He resurfaces in the final tournament piloting a self-constructed mech, demonstrating his growth. However, Haru incidentally destroys this unit before Koji’s scheduled match against Boris Schauer. Koji’s return underscores his commitment to evolving as a builder despite setbacks.
